The memorial service for Kobe Bryant and Gianna Bryant is scheduled on February 24, 2020, at Staples Center. The memorial will start at 10:00 am. However, the service has very limited seats. Therefore, those who could not get a ticket, have been advised to stay away from the Staples Center. The memorial of Laker legend is being held almost a month later since his helicopter crash on January 26, 2020. Thousands of fans were trying to get a hold of the tickets. However, only a few have received the code to enter the service.
The organizers of the memorial service have asked fans to stay away from the memorial venue if they could not get a ticket. They have clearly stated that the ceremony will be broadcasted on screens at the Staples Center. Therefore, there is no need to go to the area if you do not have a ticket or a pass. The Staples Center President, Lee Zeidman, talked to reporters outside the venue:
We hope that everybody heeds the message and they stay either in their offices, surrounded by their friends or at home with their family or loved ones, because it’s going to be a very emotional memorial for that day and we want people to be able to enjoy it.
The authorities and the organizers have stressed that the ceremony will not be broadcasted on the outdoor screens. Not even in adjacent LA Live Plaza.
if you don’t have tickets and credentials, you will not be allowed into this venue. … The point there is, do not impact the rest of the Los Angeles downtown community by trying to come here and be part of something that you’ll not be a part of.
The organizers are expecting the attendees to be peaceful and calm. Moreover, they also expect others, who could not get a ticket, not to crash the event. They also expect that no one will create any kind of disturbance. And that the event will be held peacefully. The community must show utmost respect to the legend Kobe Bryant, and his daughter Gianna.
Even though smaller streets outside the Staples Center will be blocked for the general public. Only those with tickets can use these roads. However, the major roads like Olympic Boulevard will remain open.
Even though the authorities have not confirmed how many seats have been sold out. They have confirmed that they have arranged for 20,000 seats. The Staples Center doors will open at 8:00 a.m and people with tickets must be seated by 9:45 a.m max.
The ticket prices for the Kobe Bryant and Gianna memorial service range from $24.02 to $224. The price itself is set as a tribute to Bryant’s jersey number 24 and Gianna’s number 2. Moreover, tickets proceeds will be donated to the Mamba and Mambacita Sports foundation.
There is also a restriction on ticket transfer. That is, tickets cannot be transferred to someone else. Only original ticket purchasers can enter the arena.
