The actress, Kelly Dodd has received a lot of backlash from followers after giving a thoughtless comment about coronavirus. But she is now apologizing for it

Kelly Dodd’s recent comment on Instagram got so many of us infuriated. In regards to coronavirus, she actually stated that it was ‘God’s way of thinning the herd’. As expected, it got a lot of people hurt by this. Hence, Kelly Dodd apologized for her insensitive comments.

The public apology

Looks like the star of Real Housewives of Orange County realized early on that the comment was an inconsiderate attempt. And so, she issued a public apology saying she did not mean what she said as a fact. She continued to explain that it was rather a question. She also said:

“I’m not God. I’m not insensitive. I feel bad for all of the families who have lost loved ones. I do think we should all stay home and protect everybody. That’s not what I meant, and I want to apologize to anyone who got offended. I’m sorry.”

Kelly Dodd also stressed that when she commented about God thinning the herd, it was just a question. Kelly continued to apologize for people who have lost their loved ones because of COVID-19. And continued to wish everyone good health and safety from the pandemic.

However, her initial banter on Instagram was quite thoughtless. According to E Online, the star called out people for being ill-informed and illiterate. Her original comments were:

“Do you know how many people died from the H1N1, the swine flu or SARS?.” It’s 25% get your facts straight you are only hearing numbers not the reality! It’s God’s way of thinning the herd! If you are vulnerable or compromised stay inside. If you don’t protect others by wearing masks and gloves keep your distance and don’t go out if you are ill! It’s common sense!”
