Jennifer Lopez & Jennifer Garner React to Ben Affleck Dissing on Jennifer Garner

Recently, Ben Affleck made some comments about his past marriage with Jennifer Garner that did not go over well with the public. He claimed that he would probably have kept drinking if he was still married to Garner. Affleck shared that he was not happy in their marriage and his alcoholism would have gotten worse. He felt trapped because he thought he couldn’t leave because of the kids. His comments implied that it was Garner who was the problem behind his substance abuse. That made Jennifer Garner’s fans angry. But the fans aren’t the only one upset over the news. Ben Affleck’s ex-wife Jennifer Garner as well as his current girlfriend Jennifer Lopez are both unhappy about his comments.

Jennifer Garner isn’t particularly happy with the wording Affleck used, but her fans are more angry for her

Reportedly, Jennifer Garner has said that she isn’t particularly happy about what Ben Affleck told Howard Stern in a recent interview. She also added that it seemed like a “slap in the face” to her current co-parenting relationship with him. Garner found it disrespectful but she is not saying anything more about it.

Ben Affleck had said this about his substance abuse problem:

“Part of why I started drinking was because I was trapped. I was like, ‘I can’t leave [my marriage] because of my kids, but I’m not happy, what do I do?’ And what I did was drank a bottle of Scotch and fell asleep on the couch, which turned out not to be the solution.”

However, her fans were furious at Ben Affleck. They call him out for associating his alcoholism to her considering that it started before he married her. As well as the fact that even after their divorce, Jennifer Garner helped get to rehab.

Garner and Affleck have confirmed in the past that he was involved with their children’s nanny. Many fans commented on how Jennifer Garner is still a great mother and chooses to not badmouth Ben Affleck for the sake of their kids.

Apparently, a source close to Jennifer Lopez shared with Page Six that she is quite angry at what Ben Affleck said because her name is being brought up as well:

“[Lopez] is pissed. She is getting pulled into this because she is dating him. She doesn’t want to be dragged into this.”

Moreover, this was not a good move on Affleck’s part because Jennifer Lopez was trying to get to know Jennifer Garner and the kids she shares with Ben Affleck:

“She has met Jennifer Garner. She is trying to get to know her and Ben’s kids. It’s reckless and cavalier of him.” 

However, there are conflicting sources as another source claims that both the ladies aren’t trying to get to know each other more. The only focus is on the kids.

Jennifer Garner and Ben Affleck married in 2005 and got a divorce in 2015. They have three kids together, Samuel, Seraphina and Violet. Meanwhile, Jennifer Lopez has twins from her previous marriage with Marc Anthony, Max and Emme.

They all seemed to be blending together well as a family when Jennifer Garner, Jennifer Lopez and Ben Affleck took all of the kids trick-or-treating together last year on Halloween. Affleck’s kids and Lopez’s kids have hung out together as well.

Despite the controversial comments, Ben Affleck also added in the recent interview that he loves and respects his ex-wife Jennifer Garner:

“We had a marriage that didn’t work, this happens, with somebody that I love and respect, but to whom I shouldn’t be married any longer. I knew she was a good mom.”
