The popular beauty guru Jeffree Star is back to focusing on his makeup line after the Tati Westbrook versus James Charles feud has gone to rest. But things just got a bit more interesting- Star took to his YouTube channel to reveal the latest addition to Jeffree Star Cosmetics. Titled The Gloss, it is a line featuring 18 shades of high shine, glitter-infused products that come in a wide variety of shades and colors. In the 14-minute long announcement video, Star has revealed all the information about the upcoming lip colors. In fact, he has actually given fans a glimpse of what to expect from his upcoming range.
Like all of his other products, The Gloss was revealed in a YouTube video after being teased for several days. Not just that, but the packaging is similar to that of the Magic Star Concealer that was released just a few months ago.
While lip glosses these days can be actual glitter disasters, this definitely won’t be the case with Star’s new collection. However, this remains the first glossy collection of Jeffree Star Cosmetics even when the brand has a very reputable lipstick line. This range will feature 18 different shades in 2 different formulas. There will be 12 shades in Glitter Fantasy which are all sparkly. And there will be 6 shades in Extreme Shine which will be glosses without shimmer.
While sharing details about his new collection, Jeffree revealed everything from the formula to the scent. The makeup mogul created a long doe foot applicator so that people can cover the whole lip in a swipe. Along with the Créme Brulee scent, the formula is neither sticky nor tacky. Instead, it has a high shine finish.
Apparently, Jeffree Star received a lot of requests for a lip gloss collection prior to the reveal. While the response to all the swatches is mostly positive, some people have different but interesting comments. Some fans commented on the post claiming that the glosses are the worst ones ever, and even resemble lip infections.
The Gloss by Jeffree Star launches this Friday, May 31 on the mogul’s website, as well as at Morphe Cosmetics. The glosses retail for $18 individually.
