Jared Leto May Play Nightmare, an MCU Villain
Jared Leto is not a newcomer when it comes to being a comic book villain. He is popular for his role as DC’s Joker in the first Suicide Squad Movie. Scott Derrickson directed Doctor Strange 2 could be a change of universes for him. This possible shift comes at a time when the new Suicide Squad movie would be released without Leto in it.
Multiple leaks suggest that Marvel has their eyes on a slew of names to join Benedict Cumberbatch in Doctor Strange 2. Some of the names that are surfacing more than others are Emily Blunt, Eva Green, Natalie Dormer, and Vanessa Kirby.
A leak by 4chan suggests that Jared Leto seems to be the best choice for the role of Nightmare. Other actors in the queue for the same role are the following:
James McAvoy, Cillian Murphy, Dan Stevens, and Jared Leto.
Several high-profile male and female actors are being discussed for other roles in the movie. They include Eva Green, Emily Blunt, Claire Foy, Vanessa Kirby, Natalie Dormer, Ewan McGregor.
Leto’s possible shift to the MCU
Leto is a versatile actor known for his iconic roles in Fight Club and Requiem for a Dream. His acting as Joker received mixed reviews. The majority of the audience didn’t think the role suited him as much as it did other actors.
Marvel Cinematic Universe is a successful franchise, with big names attached to it. We all associate Robert Downey Jr, Chris Evans, Chris Hemsworth, Scarlett Johansson, and Elizabeth Olsen with the MCU. All of them have gained a lot of popularity and success from the Marvel movies. So, if the rumor comes out to be true, it might turn out to be really good for Jared Leto!
