During the COVID-19 pandemic, everyone is experimenting with and developing new skills. However, some take it a step further. Similarly, Jake Gyllenhaal’s love interest is now a sourdough bread.
While there’s no denying that his acting skills are flawless, Gyllenhaal also has a love for pranks and shenanigans. Despite belonging from a family of famous stars, Jake Gyllenhaal carved his own path. Although he started out as a child actor, it was his first film, October Sky, which brought him praise and Hollywood star status. However, Donnie Darko became his legacy and one of the most unforgettable films of his career. On the other hand, Jake Gyllenhaal’s love for humor and pranks is visible from his social media. While Ryan Reynolds and Hugh Jackman feud is on-going, they included Brokeback Mountain star in it too. A few years ago, Jackman and Gyllenhaal pranked Reynolds into wearing an ugly Christmas sweater and posted on social media. Similarly, his bromance with Tom Holland is very famous. During one of the interviews, he kept pulling Holland’s leg and joked around. It is also visible from many of his interviews that Gyllenhaal has a funny side to him.
During the latest episode of The Late Show with Stephen Colbert, the host and Spiderman actor talked about Jake Gyllenhaal’s love for bread making. After being in quarantine, the entire world seems to be learning how to make bread. Not only is this a great way to spend time, but it can also be helpful to survive if things get worse. While sharing his tips of breading making with Colbert, he said:
“I’ve found myself falling in love with sourdough. I have a good friend who’s a baker in San Francisco . . . we were talking, and I hate this, but I was like, ‘Can you teach me how to do a sourdough starter?’ And off I went.”
While telling Colbert that Jake Gyllenhaal’s love interest was rising, he whispered:
“Shh, I have sourdough rising. Shh. It needs to rest. It’s resting.”
When Colbert asked how he got into it, he said:
“As my hair’s grown longer and as I’ve sort of slowly inched into the hipster world, I’ve found myself falling in love with sourdough. There’s a very particular kind of audience who is definitely into this.”
While Jake Gyllenhaal’s love interest might surprise some, we don’t see why it should be an issue.
