Hannah Simone has some exciting news for everyone who was missing Cece on New Girl which ended years ago. The actress is going to return to ABC in an entirely different yet equally intriguing show. The best part is that it was inspired by Hannah Simone’s actual family.
Another amazing factor here is that New Girl’s executive producers and writers Alex Cuthbertson and Matt Fusfeld are a part of this project too. They are going to be writing and producing this show along with Hannah Simone herself.
It’s going to have an authentic representation as it’s going to realistically portray what life is like for an Indian-American family. The story will start off when both Hannah Simone and her father have some difficult life-changing moments. The duo starts over again and we’re here to see their journey.

Hannah and her father were having dinner with Alex Cuthbertson and Matt Fusfeld when her father suddenly revealed that his real passion has been to tell stories despite being an engineer all his life. One thing led to another, and well now we will have a fun new sitcom to watch!
Born in the beautiful city of London, Hannah Simone has an Indian father and an English mother of Italian, Greek, and German descent. And that’s not the only thing making her international. In her childhood, she has been around the world temporarily living in New Delhi, Cyprus, Canada, and even Vancouver!
Initially, she worked as a fashion model but after getting her degree from the University of British Columbia she became a human rights and refugees officer.
After this, she pursued acting as a career. But at the infancy of her career, Hannah Simone could only land hosting and news presenting gigs for shows like Space for Living, Much News Weekly, WCG Ultimate Gamer, and TheNewMusic.
Her big break came in 2011 when she became Cece on Fox’s New Girl. The show starring Zooey Deschanel, Max Greenfield, Lamorne Morris, Jake Johnson, and later Damon Wayans Jr. and Nasim Pedrad, ended in 2018 after 7 whole seasons.
We are not entirely sure how much of it will be based on her real life. Maybe, it will just have the Indian-American element and the relationship Hannah Simone shares with her father. Her struggles as an actor may well be portrayed in the TV show though. We don’t know if she’ll get a fictional family or see her real husband Jesse Giddings and their child on the show.
We are definitely hoping that her other cast mates from New Girl will make special appearances on the show.
It seems like Lamorne Morris, who played Winston Bishop, already got his part!
