Fleabag and Stranger Things’ Brett Gelman Nominated For SAG Awards

The 26th SAG Awards nominations have been announced, and with it comes a list of appreciation posts by stars and those behind the screen. This year, Netflix’s The Irishman and Sony Picture’s Once Upon a Time in Hollywood lead the film categories with four nominations. From TV series, Fleabag and Stranger Things with three nominations each, are in second place. This is something that Brett Gelman is really happy about!

Fleabag’s Star Gelman Is Thankful For Nominations

In an Instagram post, Brett Gelman had the following to say:

“I am so proud of these two shows. And I am so fortunate to get to play these 2 complexly written characters alongside such singular masterful actors. Thank you.”

The Fleabag stars receive the nomination for the “Outstanding Performance by an Ensemble in a Comedy Series” category. These stars include the likes of Phoebe Waller-Bridge, Andrew Scott, and Brett himself. Fleabag is getting a contest from TV shows Barry, The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel, Schitt’s Creek, and The Kominsky Method.

The comedy series, Fleabag, is an Emmy-winning show about a young woman trying to manage life in London whilst dealing with her family issues and a recent tragedy.

Stranger Things Included in Awards

Meanwhile, for Stranger Things, the show’s cast has been nominated for Outstanding Performance in Drama Series. Here, we can find the likes of Millie Bobby Brown, Winona Ryder, and David Harbour. Now, luckily for Brett Gelman, he is included in both shows. So, if these two shows end up winning, the night will be a really huge one for him at least.

Stranger Things deals with a group of early teenagers who try to counter supernatural forces that first appear after one of their friends disappeared in the woods.

With this, you can also find Game of Thrones, Glow, The Walking Dead and Watchmen competing in the category.

One unexpected film nomination is Nicole Kidman for the Supporting Actress category in the movie Bombshell. She, along with Jamie Foxx for the Supporting Actor category for Just Mercy.
