Although he has now deleted the tweet, Evan Peters’ fans had already noticed it.
Since George Floyd’s murder, the police brutality has reached to newest heights. When the protesters came out on the street to peacefully demand justice, they used violence. The police used gas and rubber bullets to disperse the gathering crowds. However, people resort to looting and rioting. In addition to that, people have also started uploading videos of such incidents on social media. A few days ago, American Horror Story star, Evan Peters retweeted a video where a cop is beating up a looter. Right after that, Evan Peters’ fans called him out and bashed him. They expressed their disappointment and anger at this act. Apart from that, they also criticized him for staying silent on the issue.

After deleting his tweet, Peters apologized and came clean.
When Evan Peters’ fans showed their unhappiness for his act, he immediately posted a tweet to apologize. He wrote:
I don’t condone the guy watching the news at all in the video which I have deleted. I unknowingly retweeted it. I’m deeply upset it got on my newsfeed. I sincerely apologize if anyone was offended. I support black lives matter wholeheartedly.

After his apology, some fans accepted and considered it his mistake, while others still did not buy it. Many of them also poked fun at his past relationships with Emma Roberts and Halsey. They stated that his lack of support for Black Lives Matter might be a reason for their breakup. Whether it was a mistake or not, it is clear that you cannot hide from people on social media. This is why using it responsibly is very important.
