Did the Kardashian Name Bring Down Kendall Jenner?

Coming from a family like Kardashians might have its own perks. But seems like the package comes with its downfalls too. Model Kendall Jenner, the youngest of the Kardashian clan has revealed how her family name might have hurt her modeling career in its initial days. Although Kendall is now one of the highest paid supermodels of the world, things have not been that smooth from the very start. But she persisted on becoming a brand on her own by distinguishing herself from her very popular background. Now the 23-year old is fighting back at critics who credit her modeling worth to the Kardashian-Jenner family name.

Model Kendall Jenner Developed a Distinction from the Kardashian Name

Speaking to Vogue Australia for the magazine’s cover story, Kendall Jenner revealed that her coming from a family like the Kardashians was definitely hard. When she began her career as a model, her association with a family that had its own reality television show made it very difficult for Kendall to establish her own brand. Being viewed in a light other than a reality television star was becoming almost impossible.

At the age of 14, Kendall announced on KUWTK, that she wanted to pursue a career in modeling. Kris Jenner at that time claimed that she wanted to be on board with her daughter’s decision. So, it was made public that Kendall Jenner would step into the industry as a model. But when Kendall attended casting calls, she attempted to identify herself as ‘K’ or ‘Kendall’ only. The teenage model believed that omitting the Kardashian-Jenner family name would help her distinguish herself from the family.

Kendall also revealed that critics have always lashed out that her current status as the world’s highest paid supermodel stems from her family’s name and influence. But she always wants to prove them wrong because she is a hard worker. Her parents have raised her and Kylie and all the sisters in that very manner. And that she has actually worked to reach the position that she now enjoys. Kendall claimed that,

A lot of people assumed that because I came from a ‘name’ that it was a lot easier for me to get to where I got. But actually, it’s the complete opposite.

It looks like each of the Kardashian sisters always seem to be involved in one or the other controversy.
