For Millennials. By Millennials.
The news of Donald Trump and Melania Trump testing positive for the Coronavirus has taken over the internet. After all, he is the leader of the free world, even if there are people who don’t like hearing that. Here’s how some notable Hollywood celebrities reacted to the news of Trump testing positive for COVID-19.
Celebrities give mixed reactions to Donald Trump testing positive for Coronavirus
As someone who has had #COVID19 and still suffers from post-covid syndrome, I can honestly say with all that I am that I wouldn’t wish this virus on my worst enemy. Please wear a mask. (Heart emoji)

Similarly, Mark Hamill didn’t exactly go on an angry rant against Donald Trump. But, he did hope that Trump testing positive would force his followers to “reevaluating their opinions”. And that he hopes they will now “accept a lockdown, social distancing & mandatory mask-wearing”.
If anything positive can come him testing positive, it would be his followers reevaluating their opinions. If they will now accept a lockdown, social distancing & mandatory mask-wearing, we could crush the virus like we should have from the start. #ButIAlsoBelieveInTheToothFairy https://t.co/uh0Y5FF4A7

Moreover, writer Hank Green was very surprised at first, tweeting “Fuuuuuuuu**ing hell” at first. However, he later gathered his thoughts and said that he doesn’t want to give any “take right now”. This is because “Criticisms will look like cruelty, scandals won’t have space to stick in our minds”. But, because Donald Trump “was reckless and denied science,” his poll numbers might still go up.

Another celebrity Rachel Maddow, host on MSNBC, tweeted in full support of Donald Trump and the first lady Melania Trump, saying:
God bless the president and the first lady. If you pray, please pray for their speedy and complete recovery — and for everyone infected, everywhere.
This virus is horrific and merciless — no one would wish its wrath on anyone.
We must get its spread under control. Enough.

Despite these positive messages, there were many celebrities who did not react with such kindness for a political figure they do not support.
Many celebrities were eager to remind the President how he downplayed Coronavirus
As expected, Donald Trump does not have a lot of allies in Hollywood. And most celebrities were not so courteous when they reacted to the news of Trump testing positive for Coronavirus. For instance, Tyler Oakley, host of the famous Psychobabble podcast, tweeted:
i had just gotten into bed but i feel like i can’t miss a night like this on twitter pic.twitter.com/kCRgogwmS2
— tyler oakley (@tyleroakley) October 2, 2020
It could be that Oakley just couldn’t resist missing out on the memes on Twitter. Moreover, he also shared a ten-day-old video of Trump saying that the virus “affects virtually nobody”:

— tyler oakley (@tyleroakley) October 2, 2020
Similarly, Zach Braff was not so kind in his reaction too. He reminded everyone how they were told that this was a “hoax”:

Furthermore, actor BJ Novak also tweeted:
What a time to be half-alive

And then, we have actress, writer, and producer Issa Rae. She pretty much summed up her emotions by sharing the gif of a very famous meme:

Moreover, Whitney Cummings was really surprised about how Melania Trump caught COVID-19 from Donald Trump. Especially considering that she’s mostly been “social distancing from Trump since they got married”:
I don’t get how Melania got it – she’s been social distancing from trump since they got married
— Whitney Cummings (@WhitneyCummings) October 2, 2020
We also have Kathy Griffin, and let’s just say that she was really curious to know if Mike Pence caught the Coronavirus from Donald Trump or not:

However, in the end, Kathy gave in to public pressure and said that she would pray for Trump. But only if he spends 5 days on a ventilator…

Does God count as a celebrity? Well, an account on Twitter that alleges to be God (although he’s not verified yet) had this to say about Donald Trump getting COVID-19:
YOU'RE WELCOME. https://t.co/UW4vljOqmE
— God (Not a Parody, Actually God) (@TheTweetOfGod) October 2, 2020
I've never gotten so many prayers from atheists in My life.
— God (Not a Parody, Actually God) (@TheTweetOfGod) October 2, 2020
Revenge is a dish best served COVID.
— God (Not a Parody, Actually God) (@TheTweetOfGod) October 2, 2020
Donald Trump might be a big fan of God, but it looks like it’s a one-sided relationship.
Comedians react to Donald Trump getting COVID-19
Well, considering how Trump took Coronavirus so lightly for months and generally exhibited total apathy towards the victims of the virus, it’s understandable then that comedians had a field day when Donald Trump himself tested positive for COVID-19. Elijah Daniel stated the obvious, in some ways, that this pretty much proves that number 45 is not a good President:
i know this is an unpopular opinion but I’m starting to think that Donald Trump might not be a good as a president?
— elijah daniel (@elijahdaniel) October 2, 2020
Furthermore, Quinta Brunson was just shocked at who wrote this season of America:

And then, Zach Kornfield made an interesting point. He said that he truly enjoyed that Trump did not send that tweet and was only forced to do so by his team. Moreover, the fact that he can’t tweet any further must be driving him insane. And it is true that Trump hasn’t tweeted since he sent the tweet, confirming that he tested positive!
The thing giving me joy this evening is that Donald certainly did not tweet this himself and is being forced by his team to not tweet any further tonight which is without a doubt driving him insane as he reads what people are saying. https://t.co/0SfHlbuNQU
— Zach Kornfeld (@korndiddy) October 2, 2020
Lastly, Demi Adejurigbe and Tressie McMillan Cottom (who is not a comedian, but a writer, sociologist, and a professor) tweeted the following:
just saw thousands of muslims dancing on a rooftop in jersey city

In short, neither Hollywood nor celebrities or actors stood quiet at the news of Trump’s COVID-19 test. And those that did are probably just staying silent to not say something that could be seen as insensitive. However, many actors and celebrities are not so discreet, as they wish for their President to have shown empathy and sensitivity towards his people, which he failed to do so in one of the toughest times America has ever seen. And that is why a majority of them want to see Joe Biden in the Oval Office.
