Calum Worthy did a lot of homework to play this role. He explained to Vanity Fair

“I spent literally two months leading up to filming my first episode investigating who Nick is. I wrote an essay—that was pretty much five pages long—about Nick, based off all of my research, I wouldn’t be doing the autistic community justice until I’d exhausted every resource for research.”

Surprisingly, Joey is very enthusiastic to play Gypsy Blanchard.

King, in fact, announced, “My name for the next 4 months, is Gypsy Rose Blanchard,”
“I know this sounds crazy, and not a lot of people will agree with me, but I think every woman should shave her head at least once in her life,”
