Billie Eilish Claps Back At Body Shamers By Showing Skin

Published by

The “Bad Guy” singer, Billie Eilish, took home multiple Grammys this year. And that makes her the second artist to win “Album Of The Year, Best Pop Vocal”, Whilst “Bad Guy” won the “Song ” & ” Record” Of The Year “.(all these four awards from four different categories.) In fact, Billie has achieved so much at such an early age. Her debut studio album also surpassed the record charts, for several weeks. The album released on 29th March 2019. And by mid-June, more than 1.3 million copies of the album were sold in the U.S. Apart from the amazing writing skills and good vocals, Billie Eilish is also known for her over-sized baggy dressing. And she has been getting a lot of hate from people.

Billie Eilish Shocks Everyone

Maybe it’s one of the reasons which left her fans Bedazzled. The late teenager showed skin for the very first time while kicking off her World Tour in Miami.

In the past, Billie Eilish was asked during an interview if she didn’t want people to see her body. She said:

yeah, that was not the main reason for it at first. Around 14, I started to dress more like this. because I mean, me and my body’s relationship has been the most toxic relationship you could even imagine.

She further added:

the way that I dress has made that relationship so much better. It’s less about my body is ugly. I don’t want you to see it. It’s more like I am not comfortable wearing this. I am comfortable wearing this (the baggy clothes). I don’t mean physically, literally like feels soft. I mean like your mental comfort.

It is very unusual for Billie Eilish to take such a bold step. And go against her decision. Maybe she is trying to make a strong statement through this interlude video.

Fans are posting video footage from the American Airlines Arena show. In which Billie is showing off her body through a visual interlude.

Billie can be heard saying,

If I wear what is comfortable, I am not a woman. If I shed the layers, I am a s***. Though you have never seen my body. You still judge it and judge me for it. Why?? We make assumptions about people based on their size. If I wear more if I wear less, who decides what that makes me?

The clap back

If you look at the recorded clip played during the Miami show, the “ Bad Guy” singer is taking off the top layers of her clothing. And all you can focus on is the black lingerie and her long nails painted in black.

Billie Eilish has been very open about her dressing choices from the very beginning. And she has received a lot of hate from the public too. But after the Miami video, this time it seems like the young singer is taking control of things a little differently.

After all, it’s her body. And she gets to decide whether she wants to show it to the world. Or, cover it with baggy clothes. People should stop throwing venom at her clothing choices. She can wear whatever makes her comfortable.

Sexual objectification on young celebrities like her is an issue that needs to be solved as soon as possible. A source further explained that no comments are going to be made from the singer. So if you are smart enough, you should know it’s time to back off.
