The Beatles Watched George Harrison Lose His Virginity!

As absurd as it sounds, Paul McCartney recalls that The Beatles watched George Harrison lost his virginity! He believes that made the band special.

The Beatles have become more like legendary folklore. And one thing that made them more special than other bands was how they got along so well with each other. However, it turns out that that bonding didn’t just stem out of jamming sessions or sharing their personal lives. A lot more was involved, for instance, George Harrison losing his virginity in front of the Beatles!

Paul McCartney recalls the moment Harrison lost his virginity

We all want our first intimate moment with our partner to be lonesome, right? Just you and them and no one else. Well, sadly, that wasn’t the case for George Harrison. In an interview with GQ, Paul McCartney was asked if Harrison really lost his virginity in front of the band, to which he carefully replied:

I think that’s true. The thing is, these stories, particularly Beatles stories, they get to be legendary, and I do have to check: Wait a minute, I know we had one bed and two sets of bunks, and if one of the guys brought a girl back, they could just be in the bed with a blanket over them, and you wouldn’t really notice much except a little bit of movement. I don’t know whether that was George losing his virginity—it might have been.

This took place when George Harrison was 17 and on tour to Hamburg, back when The Beatles didn’t have Ringo and they were a nobody band. Back then, there weren’t any hotels or luxury cars – they barely had a place to eat! So, The Beatles walking on to each other “doing” some steamy stuff wasn’t unheard of. Now, Harrison was always the quiet Beatle, who rarely peddled any myths himself. But, he himself endorsed this fact, saying:

After I’d finished, they all applauded and cheered. At least they kept quiet whilst I was doing it.

Paul McCartney believes that these incidents are what made The Beatles special!

According to Paul, events like George Harrison losing his virginity in front of The Beatles and others made the band more special. And yes, there were other incidents, like Paul McCartney catching John Lennon doing the deed on a girl, and one time Paul even *masturb*ted* in front of John Lennon! Here’s what he told GQ about how it made them special:

I mean, I think in the end this was one of the strengths of the Beatles, this enforced closeness which I always liken to army buddies. Because you’re all in the same barracks. We were always very close and on top of each other, which meant you could totally read each other.

Moreover, Paul McCartney also says that it helped the Beatles with their music:

So big, yeah. In music, it made us a very tight band, but as friends it made us able to read each other.

After that, Paul further recalls the story of The Beatles sandwich, and how all four of them lie down on top of each other to keep themselves warm. Ironically, it was called The Beatles Sandwich. Now, only Paul McCartney can say for sure if George Harrison losing his virginity in front fo the Beatles made them a special band. But, it does make for an incredible story.
