Anya Taylor-Joy didn’t like her acting in ‘The Witch’

The Witch star, Anya Taylor-Joy said that she was “devastated” with her acting in The Witch and she did not like it.

Anya Taylor-Joy is the up-and-coming face in the Hollywood industry. She has starred in many movies and starred in a leading role for a Netflix Original Series. She starred in ‘The Queen’s Gambit’ which was about a girl who beats the best of the best in a game of chess. That’s when Anya started getting famous globally. Anya has done several movies as well like ‘The Witch’, ‘Split’, ‘Emma’, and many more. Taylor-Joy recently opened up about how she feels about her acting in the movie ‘The Witch’.

Anya Taylor-Joy opens up about her acting in the movie ‘The Witch’

‘The Witch’ is what started Anya’s acting career. This was the first movie Taylor-Joy was starring in. It was released in 2016. And Anya was playing Thomasin in the movie. Although people seem to think that Anya did a great job in the movie, the actress thinks she could’ve done better. She recently did an interview with The Hollywood Reporter in which she said that she was devastated by her performance in that movie:

I thought I’d never work again. I still get shivers thinking about it. It was just the worst feeling of ‘I have let down the people I love most in the world. I didn’t do it right.’

The actress thought to herself after her acting in ‘The Witch’ that she will never act again. The star was very upset at her performance. She also said that she did not know how to communicate even though she is quite talkative. So, she just cried her heart out:

And I’m quite verbose. I like to talk. I like to communicate but I did not talk. and I just cried. Just couldn’t handle seeing my face that large.

Even though Taylor-Joy did not like her acting in the movie, fans seem to think otherwise. Fans loved her performance in the movie and Taylor-Joy got many other roles because of her performance in this movie.

Moreover, she went on to become a household name with her performance in ‘The Queen’s Gambit’ which was binge-watched by almost everyone during quarantine. It’s great to see that actress didn’t quit in this industry as she gave the fans some great performances!
