For Millennials. By Millennials.
It would not be wrong to say that this year’s MET Gala was taken over by social media stars. Influencers like Addison Rae and Dixie D’Amelio made their debut on the red carpet. While many criticized the decision to include TikTokers, it did not affect them as such. During the event, Justin Bieber performed an unannounced concert. Needless to say, He’s All That star was more than thrilled.
For her MET Gala debut, Addison Rae transitioned into a blonde bombshell
Despite the haters and online propaganda, Addison Rae beat the odds and walked the red carpet of MET Gala. Only a few years ago, she was an unknown teenager, trying to get some followers on TikTok. However, this year has proven to be life-changing for Rae. From her Hollywood debut to her arrival among prestigious celebrities, she has come a long way. Therefore, she wanted to have an impactful first time on the red carpet. Following the theme, Addison Rae recreated the classic Hollywood glamor era. In a red classic Tom Ford for Gucci gown, she also debuted blonde hair. According to her:
We wanted to go with an American designer who is knows to empower women. I wanted to pay homage to that. We found exactly what kind of message we wanted to put across and this dress was perfect for that.
Meanwhile, hairstylist, Adir Abergel, shed light on Rae’s blonde hair and said:
When you look at all of the Gucci references during the Tom Ford era, everything had a certain sleekness that exuded freedom. Tom knew how to bring strength and confidence with his clothes to make a woman feel sexy. That’s exactly what I wanted to do with the hair.
Along with Rae, YouTubers Jackie Aina, Nikkie de Jager, Eugene Lee Yang, and Emma Chamberlain made their debut. At the same time, TikToker, Dixie D’Amelio also rocked the red carpet.
During the event, Justin Bieber decided to perform a surprise concert and Rae was overjoyed
Other than the social media stars, A-list celebrities and socialites were also in attendance. Among them were the gorgeous couple Hailey and Justin Bieber. Although there was no concert or musical performance planned, the Baby star decided to surprise the guests with an impromptu concert. While it was a pleasant surprise for everyone, Addison Rae could not contain herself. Makeup artist, Jackie Aina, posted Rae’s video on Instagram stories. Throughout Justin Bieber’s performance, Addison Rae danced enthusiastically and sang along. It seemed that it was a dream come true for He’s All That star. Rae also made the heart gesture with her hands. In the background of the video, Aina can be heard laughing and enjoying her dance. During the concert, Justin Bieber performed Baby, Lonely, Hold On, and Anyone.
In her defense, we would also freak out if Justin Bieber started an impromptu concert!
