For Millennials. By Millennials.
Let’s face it, all of us were in tears at the end of Avengers: Endgame. The moment Iron Man snapped and said “I am Iron man” and took his last gasp was too much for us. But, what if the ending was sadder? It sounds difficult but it’s true, according to this theory. Even after a year, Marvel and the MCU give us another reason to cry.
This Avengers: Endgame theory revolves around Hulk and Black Widow
We all remember that tragic moment when Black Widow sacrifices her life in Vormir during the time heist. And we know that she died a permanent death since Hulk couldn’t bring her back as she wasn’t snapped away.
Well, this Avengers: Endgame theory makes this death even more heartbreaking for fans. Well, we know how whoever snaps his fingers with the gauntlet gets to see his loved ones right? Thanos saw Gamora and Tony Stark saw his daughter (all grown up) Morgan Stark in Soul World. Of course, the latter was in a deleted scene. But, it does mean that the directors had this concept in mind for all of those who used the Infinity Stones. In that case, Hulk could have had that moment with Black Widow Natasha too in Soul World, right?
This theory suggests that the reason why Hulk knew he couldn’t bring her back. And it makes complete sense. This is because we know the powers of the Soul Stone is mostly unknown, but it holds a personal connection with the one who uses it. That’s why Thanos and Tony both had those intimate moments with their daughters in Avengers: Endgame. Therefore, it makes perfect sense that Hulk saw Black Widow too. If you want to read the whole theory, here’s a snapshot:
The Directors confirmed that they had written a scene of Hulk in Soul World
Yes, they almost confirmed this theory, but it was slightly different. This is because it didn’t have Black Widow in it. Instead, it was just Hulk with Bruce Banner:
We did write one, a conversation between Hulk and Banner, but it didn’t make it to camera. Ruffalo showed up but Hulk wouldn’t come out of his trailer.

Tears of blood would have flown through the eyes of MCU fans had they seen this scene with Black Widow in Avengers: Endgame. But, I guess one heartbreak was enough for them?
