Phew! This was one hell of a night for the Oscars. For some reason, if you hadn’t seen or heard it, Chris Rock was the host of The 94th Academy Awards. He was making some jokes and one of them was about Jada Pinkett-Smith’s hair. Which was not a very nice joke to make considering her alopecia condition.
Will Smith didn’t appreciate it, and he showed his dislike for the joke by actually going on stage and hitting Chris Rock! Yes, that actually happened folks! While Twitter is having a wild time processing this, Will and Jada’s son, Jaden Smith has something to say about the incident.

Jaden Smith is actually proud of his father for defending his mom
“And That’s How We Do It”, wrote Jaden Smith, clearly praising his father’s actions at the 2022 Oscars. He might also be applauding Will Smith’s Oscar win for ‘King Edward’! Both actions seem to be something that Jaden is especially proud of.
It must be noted that Will Smith did make an apology to The Academy after the altercation happened in his acceptance speech:
“I want to apologize to the Academy. I want to apologize to all my fellow nominees.”
Will also mentioned in the speech how he’s a fierce protector of his people and that love makes people do crazy things:
“Art imitates life. I look like the crazy father, just like they said about Richard Williams. But love will make you do crazy things.”
Moreover, he also talked about the role he played, that of Edward Williams, who stopped at nothing to push his daughters to the ultimate greatness. Similarly, Will Smith has given it all for his wife Jada Pinkett-Smith, and his kids Jaden Smith, Willow Smith, and Trey Smith.
Chris Rock has declined to press charges against Will Smith for the assault. And it seems that the two of them might hash things out later on. It would definitely be interesting to see if Chris is invited to Jada’s Red Table Talk to clear the air.
It would definitely set a great example of working things out and focusing on unity instead of division.
