This streaming service provides everything zombie lovers could want, whether they prefer comedic, action-packed content, or just a good scare. Thus, we have made a list of some zombie movies and tv shows for you to watch on Netflix.

1. Santa Clarita Diet

Not every zombie show has to be frightful! Santa Clarita Diet, a comedy-horror series, demonstrates that you can make the “walking dead” concept humorous. Joel and Sheila Hammond (Timothy Olyphant and Drew Barrymore respectively) are typically real estate agents who reside in the suburbs.

However, there is an exception of one extremely minute detail, Sheila is a flesh-eating zombie. This is a fact that her family, friends, and overly prying-neighbors are completely unaware of. Sheila refers to her new diet of human flesh as the “Santa Clarita Diet”. Meanwhile, Joel has the responsibility of keeping her murders hidden while they try to diagnose her condition and find treatment.

You will undoubtedly appreciate this if you like outrageous comedy. The series was created by Victor Fresco and ran for three seasons from 2017 to 2019 till it was canceled. However, while it was streaming on the platform, it garnered a lot of love. It was also one of the most beloved zombie TV shows on Netflix.

2. The Walking Dead

Based on the Robert Kirkman and Tony Moore comic book series of the same name, The Walking Dead is a grim American drama. The narrative describes life in the months and years following the zombie apocalypse from the perspective of a handful of surviving people who are on the move in quest of protection and safety.

Many people descend into the lowest reaches of human cruelty as the days pass and the struggle to survive grows. Many of the show’s characters are forced to deal with the intense stress and dread of having to battle for their lives, which can be much more dangerous than the zombies who are out in the world.

The show has a big ensemble cast, and until the ninth season, Andrew Lincoln portrayed Rick Grimes, the main character. Norman Reedus, Steven Yeun, Chandler Riggs, and Danai Gurira are a few other consistent cast members. The Walking Dead is undoubtedly one of the best zombie TV shows on Netflix.

3. iZombie

iZombie, which is partially based on a comic book concept, is a unique mashup of humor, crime, romance, and horror. Where else will you be able to watch a show that checks off all those boxes? The life of Olivia “Liv” Moore, a medical student turned zombie, is the focus of the show. She is shown to be binge-eating on brains in the morgue to stop herself from murdering innocent civilians. The twist is that Liz discovers that she is absorbing their personalities and memories as she begins to consume people. She then decides to use this power to assist in solving murders.

The show features Rose McIver, Malcolm Goodwin, Rahul Kohli, and David Anders in key roles. Rob Thomas and Diane Ruggiero-Wright developed it for The CW network. While iZombie is not one of the greatest zombie TV shows on Netflix, it is quite entertaining. The series has managed to garner a 7.8 IMDb rating as well.

4. Army of The Dead

After a zombie invasion in Vegas, a US military truck transporting a zombie in freight flees and spreads its zombie infection to the majority of the city’s residents. No one is allowed in or out of the city because of government blockades and quarantines. In an attempt to pull off the greatest heist in history and steal $200 million, a crew of mercenaries decides to take the biggest risk yet and enter the zombie-infested quarantine zone.

Army of the Dead, a smash zombie movie by Zack Snyder, is an elaborate and extravagant robbery that uses a number of constructions. Exceptional actors depict the characters, creating a band of crooks that you want to succeed.

The film features an ensemble cast including Dave Bautista, Ella Purnell, Omari Hardwick, Ana de la Reguera, Theo Rossi, Matthias Schweighöfer, Huma Qureshi, and Garret Dillahunt. Army of the Dead is one of those zombie movies on Netflix that you watch when you are in desperate need of some zombie-related content.

5. #Alive

Alive is based on the 2019 screenplay Alone by Matt Naylor (which was later converted into another film). Naylor and Cho Il-Hyung, the director of the film, co-adapted the script for this 2020 South Korean zombie film. Yoo Ah-in and Park Shin-Hye star in it. Imagine yourself trapped in a city high-rise apartment building during a zombie apocalypse, which in hindsight might just be a common situation if a zombie apocalypse happens now. Anyways, that is pretty much the premise of the movie.

The story follows a live streamer of video games who is stranded by himself in his Seoul apartment as zombies swarm all around him. He quickly finds out that the humans who are still alive may be the greatest threat as the infected masses grow. If you are a fan of the genre then this is one of those zombie movies on Netflix that need to be on your list.

6. All Of Us Are Dead

With its various underlying themes and representations of the worries that many Gen Zers have, All of Us Are Dead has a very personal and authentic feeling to it. Making it one of those zombie tv shows that hit close to home. High school survival is challenging enough without having to contend with a zombie apocalypse as well. By eschewing clichés and creating characters with distinct personalities, the series is gripping, inventive, and thought-provoking. The series is created by Chun Sung-il, Lee Jae-kyoo, and Kim Nam-Su.

7. Kingdom

The setting of this Netflix prequel to All of Us Are Dead is more medieval, 16th-century Joseon, to be precise. However, the special effects are not even close to being medieval. Lee Chang, the Crown Prince of Joseon, is the main character in the narrative. He tries to look into the “mystery ailment” that the King is suffering from but soon discovers he has transformed into a zombie. He finds himself in the midst of a terrible pandemic while attempting to prevent his political rivals from assuming the throne as it spreads as all zombie epidemics do. It is the political thriller-horror zombie hybrid you never knew you needed.

The series is created and written by Kim Eun-hee and based on the webtoon series The Kingdom of the Gods by Kim Eun-hee. It stars Ju Ji-hoon, Ryu Seung-ryong, Bae Doo-na, Kim Sang-ho, Kim Sung-kyu and Kim Hye-jun. This series is one of the highest-rated zombie TV shows on Netflix.

8. Ravenous

Marc-André Grondin, Monia Chokri, Brigitte Poupart, Luc Proulx, Charlotte St-Martin, and Micheline Lanctôt are among the cast members of the 2017 French-language Canadian horror film Ravenous, which was directed by Robin Aubert. A flesh-eating plague terrorizes a small, isolated town in Quebec. Survivors seek refuge in the woods as the occupants’ bodies degrade and begin to turn against them. Many of them band together in the country to flee the invasion while they search for additional survivors.

With an inventive and moving plot, beautifully staged murders, and dark comedy, Ravenous (also known as Les Affamés) adopts a more varied perspective on the zombie genre while yet keeping a spooky atmosphere. For its social issues, Ravenous received favorable reviews after its premiere. This film makes for one of the greatest zombie movies on Netflix.
