For Millennials. By Millennials.
After watching Zack Snyder’s Justice League, the entire DC fandom is reminiscing on what could have been. The Snyder Cut really opened everyone’s eyes as to how ambitious Snyder really was with his vision. Well, if recent reports are to be believed, the agony of the fans only gets worse. According to the reports, Zack Snyder had planned parallel multiverses in his Snyderverse!
Zack Snyder had a multiverse in mind!
Over the years, Zack Snyder has touched on the subject of an evil Superman several times. His Snyderverse would have seen Superman yield to Darkseid’s Anti-Life Equation, becoming a force for evil rather than good. As a result, Batman goes back in time and sacrifices himself, saving Lois Lane and helping Superman join the forces against Darkseid.
Now, Jay Oliva told Justice Con that Zack Snyder in fact wanted to explore the DC Comics’ most ambitious crossover yet – something that would have changed DC’s trajectory after Man of Steel, Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, and the three previously proposed Justice League movies. This would have been DC’s second parallel universe, making it a multiverse! Oliva told the viewers:
Yeah, I mean, I think that was the plan, was that they would do like the four or five parters and then we would do a Flashpoint kind of reboot, where you can bring in a new cast afterwards
And the Flashpoint story is indeed is ambitious. In it, we see Barry Allen run back in time to his childhood to prevent his mother’s death. However, in doing so he resets the DC Universe, creating alternate versions of existing characters. Luckily for fans, Andy Muschietti’s The Flash movie will touch on this event! So, not all of Zack Snyder’s Snyderverse will go in vain.
