For Millennials. By Millennials.
Marvel’s Avengers: Endgame was the culmination of one of the biggest chapters in the superhero movie era. It was dramatic, and it had intense action, it played out really well. In fact, the movie has gained more than $2 billion in revenue, overthrowing the decade-long record of Avatar for the highest-grossing movie ever. However, what if we tell you that now focussing on WandaVision will be more important than what happened at the end of the previous phase?
Enter Marvel’s Next Focus: WandaVision
The upcoming Disney+ show, WandaVision, is possibly going to be the next focus for Marvel and its Universe. Although we know little about its plot, characters and other details, we can think of this as an experiment that can define the coming phase. Kevin Feige has already said that the show will be about how Wanda Maximoff (Elizabeth Olsen) becomes the Scarlet Witch. For those who may not know, Scarlet Witch is one of the strongest heroes in Marvel. She is so strong with her abilities that she once rewrote the whole reality after suffering a psychotic break.
Comicbook claims that it is absolutely possible that the show might introduce new concepts and ideas into the MCU through this. For example, a Young Avengers cast which includes Speed, Wiccan and Hulkling. Moreover, recently released set photos already show the presence of one of Marvel’s ideas, the SWORD organization.
They also claim that Olsen’s WandaVision is never going to challenge Marvel’s big movies like Endgame. Its story was never for that purpose. However, it is going to be one of the biggest storylines MCU and the fans have seen. It will “completely uproot everything we know about the Marvel Cinematic Universe and turn it on its head.”
WandaVision is set for release on Disney+ later this year. The story will tie itself with the next Doctor Strange Movie “In the Multiverse of Madness”.
