Netflix Fused The Hunger Games, Westworld & Lost And Titled It The I-Land

Published by

Okay, so, what really is going on here? I have seen The I-Land trailer twice and there is still something off about it. Probably it’s my obsession with The Hunger Games, Westworld and Lost which is why my mind is not ready to accept a messed up fusion of all of these into a single TV series. There might be a similarity between all these series. However, every single one of them was amazing IRL. You would not remember Lost while you are watching The Hunger Games or Westworld. But Netflix’s The I-Land really reminds you of all of these mentioned TV series as well as some amateur level CGI.

Netflix Experiments | Fusion Of Westworld, The Hunger Games & Lost

Starting from the oldest, Lost series was about survivors of a plane crash (including Ian Somerhalder) are forced to work together in order to survive on a seemingly deserted tropical island. The Hunger Games’ story revolved around a televised competition in which two teenagers from each of the twelve Districts of Panem are chosen at random to fight to the death. We can already see the pattern here how Netflix’s The I-Land came into being. Finally, Westworld where chaos takes control and every human appetite can be indulged without consequence.

Now take these 3 Powerpuff girls, add some sugar, spice, and everything that is not-nice-at-all and you will have The I-Land.

The I-Land Plot, Cast, Release Date And…..Wait….Was That CGI?

The I-Land’s plot is described as “When ten people wake up on a treacherous island with no memory of who they are and how they got there, they set off on a trek to try to get back home, only to discover the world is not as it seems.” Uhum. NOTHING is at it seems. The actors are doing a nice job though. Their action skills seem to be on point and violence feels real in the trailer. The cast includes Kate Bosworth (Young Americans, Superman Returns), Sibylla Deen, Ronald Peet & Gilles Geary. The I-Land release date is September 12, 2019. You can watch the trailer here. Though it seems like fusion, but the story is interesting….kind of. Unless you focus on the CGI shark. That really looks terrible. Rain looked extremely fake as well. Only few days left, so we’ll know more about the series after it is released.
