Mindy Kaling is Writing Legally Blonde 3 Starring Reese Witherspoon

After seventeen years, Legally Blonde 3 is finally happening. While Reese Witherspoon will be returning as Elle Woods, Mindy Kaling is writing the script. With this powerful duo, we can only expect great things.

Based on Amanda Brown’s novel of the same name, Legally Blonde is still seen as a film that shattered stereotypes. The story revolves around a sorority girl who wants to win back her boyfriend. In order to do that, she enrolls at Harvard Law School and changes all the biases about blondes one after another. After the release of the film, it became a critical and box office success, Not only that, Elle Woods became one of the most iconic characters and the film brought Reese Witherspoon into the spotlight. After two years, the sequel, Legally Blonde 2: Red, White & Blonde, was released. In the second part, Elle goes to Washington and works for a congresswoman. During her time there, she helps uncover the illegal animal testings at a cosmetics company. It has been seventeen years since its sequel and Mindy Kaling is finally writing a script for the third part.

Along with the Brooklyn Nine-Nine co-creator, Dan Goor, Mindy Kaling has signed on to co-write the script. Although Witherspoon hinted at the third part back in 2018, it is finally in the works. While resuming her character, Elle Woods, Reese Witherspoon will also be producing the film. With Dan Goor and Mindy Kaling in the mix, the expectations are already high. While Brooklyn Nine-Nine is the most loved show on Netflix, Mindy Kaling has a huge fan following. People have loved her since The Office. Recently, she co-created a Netflix show, Never have I Ever, which is based on her own childhood. It was well-received by the viewers and the critics.
