Mark Hamill reacts to ‘Mandalorian’ Season 2 Finale

The Mandalorian season 2 is finally over, after enormous hype. However, we’re not going to stop talking about it for some considerable time.  And especially about that cameo by Luke Skywalker right at the end of the season finale. How cool was that? And how amazing of Disney to keep it a secret for this long? Here’s how Mark Hamill reacted to it.

Mark Hamill is proud his The Mandalorian season 2 cameo was hidden from the public

For months, fans had been speculating if we would get to see Luke Skywalker in The Mandalorian. And Disney delivered. Not only did we get a cameo from Luke (a CGI version played by Mark Hamill himself), but we also saw a lot of other beloved characters from the franchise. This includes R2-D2, Ahsoka Tano (Rosario Dawson) among others. But, it’s incredible how everyone involved with The Mandalorian season 2 actually kept it a secret. Hamill tweeted in reaction:

The fact that we were able to keep my involvement a secret for over a year with no leaks is nothing less than a miracle. A real triumph for spoiler-haters everywhere!

Even though Hamill’s cameo in The Mandalorian season 2 was amazing, it wasn’t the first his first cameo in the show. Yes, you heard that right. Hamill made an uncredited appearance in The Mandalorian once before as well. However, it was not for playing Luke Skywalker. In fact, he voiced a droid bartender from Tatooine in episode 5 of the show, back in season 1. And Jon Favreau, the series’ creator said the name of the droid was EV-9D9.

Anyways, the exquisite cameo by Hamill as Luke was a moment of goosebumps for many fans. Seeing Luke use the force to his full advantage was like a nerdgasm for fans. And then, to see Mando Din Djarin (Pedro Pascal) take his helmet off just so Baby Yoda (real name Grogu) could see his face one last time. I have to admit, tears were flowing. Let’s see what The Mandalorian has in store for us in season 3!
