Last week, Katy Perry revealed her pregnancy to the world, through a music video of her latest song: Never Worn White. The song is very deep. And it holds a special place in Katy’s heart. It’s not just about her undying love for Orlando Bloom but also highlights how her future is going to be. In fact, she personally went to see her sick grandma and told her the happy news.
Katy Perry posted the song on her Instagram with the caption,
“Let’s just say, it’s gonna be a jam-packed summer…#NeverWornWhite is out now”
Katy honored her late grandma, Ann Pearl Hudson, through a detailed Instagram post on 9th March. (right after the day Ann passed away. Some news sources are stating that Katy’s grandma was 99 years old.
Katy Perry shared some beautiful pictures with her grandma, on Instagram.
Amidst the pictures, there is this black and white video at the end. In which Ann is in a hospital bed and Katy is sitting next to her. After introducing herself, Katy Perry breaks down the news of her pregnancy.
She goes like :
I just wanted to tell you, I know you are not feeling well. But, I wanted to share some exciting news with you. You remember me, Katy. I am gonna tell you that I am gonna have a baby.
I am pregnant Grandma. Katy is finally pregnant. She is the last one. But, I have a baby inside me. And I want to tell that to you.
To which Ann replies, ” Uh-uhh. And Katy laughingly says “Don’t say uh-uhh.”
Katy Perry mentions in her Instagram post that her grandmother was a strong and brilliant woman. Whenever we try to picture grandmas, a warm, funny, cuddly and cozy image appears in our mind, Don’t you all agree?
The singer mentions how her grandma used to give her crisp dollar bills, in hallmark cards. And how they used to eat her favorite almond cookies from the 99 cent store.
Katy Perry’s heart-touching post reminds me of my Grandma so much, who passed away on the very first day of 2020.
She ended the post with these lines :
When my style comes out, that’s Ann.
May she rest in deep peace and kiss the forehead of the soul to come and let them know everything is gonna be OK, especially now that they have gained an angel to look over them.
Let’s hope and pray that Katy’s Grandma rests peacefully in the heavens.
