Mutter Muss Weg and Patrick Melrose director, Edward Berger, is collaborating with Jake Gyllenhaal and Benedict Cumberbatch for a psychological thriller. Michelle Williams (Venom 2), is part of the star-studded cast as well. Rio was initially a Helmer Luca Guadagnino (Susperia and Call My by Your Name) project.

The story revolves around a  financial reporter (Jake Gyllenhaal). He travels to visit a well-off friend (Benedict Cumberbatch) in Rio Da Janeiro, only to find himself stuck in a plot to fake his friend’s death.
