Daniel Bernhardt will return as Agent Johnson in The Matrix 4

The fourth installment in the Matrix Franchise will be coming out on the 1^st of April in 2022. The Matrix 4 will have Keanu Reeves and Carrie-Anne reprise their roles as Neo and Trinity. But these are not the only ones reprising their roles. Daniel Bernhardt will also be returning as Agent Johnson in the next installment of this sci-fi American film.

Bernhardt will join newcomers Jonathan Groff, Neil Patrick Harris and Abdul Yahya-Mateen II in the movie. Its still unclear as to what capacity we will watch Agent Johnson return in.

It was recently revealed by Harris that The Matrix 4 has moved on from the original trilogy. So, it will be exciting to see how that influences the returning villains and heroes.

Daniel Bernhardt was last seen fighting Neo in The Matrix Reloaded with vicious speed. Fans have also watched him in the John Wick series and in Atomic Blonde. News of The Matrix 4’s progress started back in March 2017. It was confirmed in August of 2019 and production began in February of 2020. After a long delay due to the ongoing corona virus pandemic the production of Matrix 4 has finally resumed.

However, fans are excited to see what is to come.

After Hugo Weaving shared the news of him not returning as Agent Smith for the Matrix 4. It is easy to consider Daniel filling in Hugo’s shoes as Agent Johnson.

The Matrix Franchise

Lana Wachowski has written the film’s script of the upcoming Matrix 4 with Aleksandar Hemon and David Mitchell. The franchise started in 1999’s with The Matrix that showed a dystopian future. Where artificial beings take over humankind. It is unknowingly stuck inside a fake reality, called the Matrix.

It was followed by two sequels both released in 2003, The Matrix Reloaded and The Matrix Revolutions.

The Matrix and following two sequels made an earning of a total 1.6 billion dollars altogether at the box office. All three chapters were directed by Lana and Lilly Wachowski. Keanu Reeves and Carrie-Anne Moss played the roles of Neo and trinity in all three chapters.

The Matrix 4’s cast includes Keanu Reeves, Carrie-Anne Moss. Jonathan Groff, Yahya Abdul-Mateen II, Toby Onwumere, Neil Patrick Harris, Eréndira Ibarra. Jessica Henwick, Andrew Caldwell, Priyanka Chopra and Brian J. Smith.

Fans are excited for the fourth part of movie after a decade.
