On Friday, HBO Max confirmed the news of Friends really is returning to the big screen for a 60-minute unscripted reunion. While the date of this one-off special has not been revealed yet, the news shared revealed that the special reunion will be launched in May.
After 16 years, it’s FINALLY happening!
On January 2020, Friends’ fans quoted the famous dialogue by Matthew Perry AKA Chandler Bing from the show in the episode where the friends celebrate Emma, Ross and Rachel’s baby daughter’s 1st birthday. “Hi, Emma. It’s the year 2020. Are you still enjoying your nap?” uttered Chandler Bing. Fans believe that the Friends reunion would revolve around the setting of Emma’s 18th birthday.

The chief content officer for HBO Max Kevin Reilly confirmed that the rights were acquired for Friends reunion for $425 million. He further said, “Guess you could call this the one where they get back together. We are reuniting the entire cast of Friends alongside the Friends library for an HBO Max special.”
