For Millennials. By Millennials.
John Cena says he’s at the turning point of his career. The WWE legend has made his mark in Hollywood. The wrestler-turned-actor has stepped up his acting game and evolved tremendously. He made his feature film debut starring in 2006’s The Marine. Moreover, Cena has proved his talents as an incredible performer with movies like Trainwreck, Blockers, and Bumblebee.
The 42-year-old still looks back at the ring with a bit of vagueness as he often thinks about what’s next after this current slate of films.
Cena Shares that he’s Grateful
In an extended conversation with Collider, the actor said:
“Dude, all this stuff is great, but if it all stops tomorrow, I’m still okay with me, I know the good things that define me and I know the qualities I have as a human being. I’m going to move on and go forward. I know that all this is borrowed. I’m just grateful to have it and grateful to be able to contribute. I don’t want to be greedy as a performer and I see that a lot in sports entertainment.”
John Cena Credits Dwayne Johnson
With each project at hand, the man keeps getting better and better. While getting much appreciation from critics and audiences alike, he specifically credits Dwayne Johnson for paving the path for wrestlers.
“If you look at the correlation of wrestlers or WWE personalities in movies, they essentially played extensions of their WWE personality. I think Dwayne was one of the first ones to break that mold, and do it on such a grand scale that he couldn’t be ignored.”
Return with Suicide Squad & Fast and Furious 9
John Cena will be coming back to our big screens with James Gunn’s The Suicide Squad. The film will make the possible return of previous favorite characters along with John Cena as an unrevealed character. John Cena credited James Gunn for his commitment to narrative and creating compelling characters. Apparently, the script blew John Cena away:
“The first 10 pages [are] like a movie in itself. It’s really, really special. That’s because the guy steering the ship [Gunn] is committed to narrative and committed to creating characters that we connect with and sending them on an awesome journey”
On the other hand, the WWE star will be seen in the next Fast and Furious movie. Vin Diesel being in the movie says that he had immense pleasure while working with John Cena.
