Vin Diesel opens up about Fast and Furious 9’s Delay
Another WWE star joins the Fast franchise just when it is unclear if Dwayne Johnson will return for F9. Dwayne Johnson is involved with a lot of projects and it hasn’t yet been made clear if “The Rock” will return to the franchise. And especially after bad blood between Vin Diesel and Johnson. But, it looks like the feud is over, according to cinema blend.
So, maybe we’ll see both The Rock and John Cena in Fast 9. But we can still just ponder. Coincidentally, John Cena began shooting for his “badass role” in Fast & the Furious 9 on the seventeenth anniversary of his WWE career. He has also followed in the steps of Johnson – wrestler turned actor.
About the delayed release date of Fast and the Furious 9
This year John Cena joins the huge fast franchise for Fast and the Furious 9. But, unfortunately, it has been pushed to April 2, 2021, instead of May 22, 2020. Filmmakers did not specifically say the delay was due to the COVID-19 epidemic. But, they emphasized that the safety of their entire crew is of paramount importance.
Vin Diesel shares a few thoughts on it:
“We feel all the love and the anticipation you have for the next chapter in our saga. That’s why it’s especially tough to let you know that we have to move the release date of the film. It’s become clear that it won’t be possible for all of our fans around the world to see the film this May.While we know there is disappointment in having to wait a little while longer, this move is made with the safety of everyone as our foremost consideration.”
The only trailer released for the film shows some intense action-packed scenes. Lots of explosions, inhumane jumps, and whatnot. The plot pivots around Dominic being chased by his brother, Jakob (played by Cena). Jakob is a world-class assassin, a master thief and of course a badass driver. He’s on orders from his superior (Charlize Theron) to kill Dominic.
I guess fans will have to wait a year to see how the story unfolds between the brothers.
