Twitch Lawsuit: Streaming Media In $25M Case Due To Alinity & Others

A regular viewer on Twitch has filed a lawsuit against the streaming media and demanded $25 million in damages. The user claims that the man sexually suggestive Twitch female streamers have made it nearly impossible for the plaintiff to use Twitch without getting exposed to sexual content. The viewer has also gone on to name some of the many Twitch female streamers, amongst which Alinity, Pokimane, and others are included. The complaint against Twitch has been filed in Santa Clara Superior Court of California on June 15 by user Estavillo. Twitch was to appear for their first official summons shortly after June 19.

Twitch Lawsuit Dragging Alinity For Sexually Suggestive Content

According to the complaint, Estavillo suffers from several medical conditions, such as depression, OCD, and sex addiction. The last one, as he claims, has been highly influenced by Twitch “displaying many sexually suggestive women streamers… making it nearly impossible” for him to escape sexual content. The Twitch lawsuit complaint goes further.

“[Estavillo was] following 786 female streamers and 0 male streamers with thumbnails showing these scantily clad women, alongside men, of being the only streaming channels available to him.”

The Twitch lawsuit goes even beyond. Seeing the general behavior of these women streamers:

“women streamers who are only streaming with the sole purpose of taking advantage of such disadvantaged individuals who just want to watch a video game stream through Twitch, but then are enticed to spend money on these women for attention and sexual innuendo the streamer may do when donated to.”

Finally, the Twitch lawsuit also highlighted the names of the following Twitch streamers:

Moreover, the victim also added Sasha Grey to the list, a former adult actress. Estavillo finally added that he doesn’t request any rewards, but suggests that these streamers get a permanent ban along with any other Twitch violators. Also, he seeks $25 million in punitive damages to be paid to COVID-19 and Black Lives Matter charities of the Court’s choosing.
