Sometimes these celebs get a little too comfortable in front of the camera and don’t realize what they’re saying. Such incidents can be life-altering and in some cases cost the celebrities their profession too. The following are the top 5 celebrities who ruined their careers.
5. Liam Neeson
While promoting the Cold Pursuit movie. Ordinary Love actor Liam Neeson shared an incident involving his close friend, who was raped by a black man. This incident happened nearly 40 years ago and he described how he felt at the time.
I was looking for a black man for a week, hoping any ‘black bastard’ would come out of a pub and have a go at me about something, you know? So that I could … kill him.
Many called him a racist but celebrities like Trevor Noah and Whoopi Goldberg defended him for his honesty. It didn’t end his career but surely made him less likable.
4. Katherine Heigl
Heigl has had a reputation of being difficult to work with but the 2008 interview with Vanity Fair proved to be rather frustrating. She called her Knocked Up movie a “little sexist” even though she decided to act in it herself. A year later, Katherine Heigl, she was seen in The Ugly Truth movie, which was thought to be quite misogynistic.
As a result, she reinforced her reputation in peoples’ minds and directors & celebrities started avoiding working with her.
3. Megan Fox
It’s one thing to dislike your director but comparing the filmmaker to the Nazi leader Hitler is a separate story. Transformers actress Megan Fox did exactly that during an interview with British magazine Wonderland. According to Fox, Transformers director Micahel Bay’s conduct on set is no different than Hitler’s.
She joined the list of celebrities with ruined careers as a result. She was immediately fired from the franchise but it wasn’t Michael. Megan Fox was fired by the movie’s executive producer and Minority Report director Steven Spielberg.
2. Charlie Sheen
The Two and a Half Men actor Charlie Sheen has said and done some questionable things in his career. The most notable one, however, is his 2015 interview on The Today Show in which he admitted to being HIV positive.
Charlie Sheen also told the host that he had unprotected sex with a couple of women while he was HIV positive. While some appreciated his bravery, many criticized him for endangering the lives of the women he had sex with during the time.
1. R. Kelly | One of the most Hated celebrities
In 2002 music artist R. Kelly was accused of sexual misconduct and child pornography but was eventually acquitted in 2008. The same year a historic interview solidified his notoriety. When asked if he liked teenage or underage girls, this is how R. Kelly responded.
When you say teenage, how old are we talking?
