Almost a year ago, Shane Dawson was embroiled in serious controversies, with severe allegations of asking underage fans for their nudes and kissing another underage fan. Since then, he has been on a hiatus from his YouTube channel after posting a viral apology. So, is he ever returning to YouTube? A recent social media post suggests that he will.

His infamous apology video contained a lot that Dawson addressed 11 months ago. In the video, he apologized for numerous things, such as his clash with the Smith family, kissing underage girls, and molesting kids in old videos, among others, and many others. There’s a lot that Dawson had been involved in throughout 2020, which compelled him to leave YouTube for a lengthy period of time. Now, however, he is gradually hinting toward returning to the platform.

In a recent Instagram post on June 9th, Dawson remerged for the first time after months, telling his fans:
I know I haven’t posted a video in a long time and I promise it’s not because I don’t want to. I’m just trying to stay in a good mindset and be happy.
Dawson hasn’t been active on both Twitter and YouTube since June 27, when he uploaded his apology video. However, despite the numerous controversies, Dawson has vowed to return to his channel. He continued to say in his post:
I promise I’m not going to abandon my channel after 15 years of creating. Just been re-evaluating my life the last year and figuring out what I want to do with it. Life is short and I’m grateful for every second of it. Hope you guys are doing well! I miss you!
This, of course, does not give us a definitive date for Dawson’s return. After all, it is still early days, and we don’t know of any week or month when he may return. Furthermore, we don’t know how well his channel would bode after his return. For instance, since he returned to YouTube, Chris D’Elia’s podcast has taken a toll. So, there is a possibility that it may never be the same for Shane Dawson on YouTube again. What do you guys think? Let us know in the comments below.
