Reese Witherspoon Talks About Her 2013 Arrest

We all have had moments in life where we’ve screwed up big time. Either they are embarrassing moments or just really bad decisions. But we’ve all been there. And it turns out, so has Reese Witherspoon.

Reese Witherspoon’s Infamous 2013 Arrest

One of her biggest mess ups landed in the headlines back in 2013 after she and her husband were arrested for driving while intoxicated. And Reese was arrested after disobeying the officer’s command to stay inside the vehicle. This incident happened in Atlanta.

She ultimately pleaded no contest to obstruction charges. While her husband, Jim Toth pleaded guilty to first offense DUI. The same day their pleas were registered, Reese appeared in an interview with George Stephanopoulos on Good Morning America. She apologized on national television, owning up to her actions and taking responsibility. Something we haven’t seen a lot of celebrities do.

“It’s just completely unacceptable. We are so sorry and embarrassed. We know better and shouldn’t have done that,” she said.

However, seven years after the incident, Reese Witherspoon talked about it again. Reese admitted it was “something stupid,” with Jameela Jamil for her I Weigh podcast. Jameela complimented her saying, “You apologized and shamed yourself in a way that was so f–king refreshing to me.”

Reese Witherspoon also said it was an embarrassing and dumb mistake. But that it’s only natural that she makes mistakes. She breathes the same air. And bleed the same way. It’s only natural to make some dumb decisions along with great ones. She’s only human.

We stan an iconic queen setting the right example. Because “What? Like it’s hard?”
