Sound Editing

The Oscars 2020 Nominees are:

Ford v Ferrari – Don Sylvester
Joker – Alan Robert Murray
1917 – Oliver Tarney, Rachel Tate
Once Upon a Time in Hollywood – Wylie Stateman
Star Wars: The Rise of SkyWalker – Matthew Wood, David Acord

Our Predictions:

Over the past decade, six of the nine Oscar ceremonies have seen the best Sound Editing and Sound Mixing award go to one movie. This year the movies running neck and neck in the Oscar race for sound editing are “1917” and “Ford v Ferrari”. It is very difficult to ascertain which movie could take the award home.

But what we have seen in many reviews out there, is that the scales may be in favor of 1917. Other than that, there is also a pattern of war movies taking the award away. Well, we will find it out soon enough.
