Lil Nas X Pregnancy Shoot Brings All Kinds of Controversy

Lil Nas X does a pregnancy photoshoot, but it sparks all kind of controversies from conservatives as well as a few notable singers!

Famous American rapper Lil Nas X always finds a way to stay in the news. First, it was the Satan shoes which contained a drop of his blood, that riled up conservatives. But this time, it’s something else entirely. Nas decided to do a pregnancy photoshoot (fake, of course), and the internet is right on the edge!

Lil Nas X has often been at the center of controversy in the past, especially with his Blood-infused Satan shoes

The past few months have been quite interesting if you’re Lil Nas X. First, he was seen grinding an impersonation of Satan himself in MONTERO (Call Me By Your Name). And if that wasn’t enough, he took 666 special Nike Shoes and sold them with a drop of human blood in them. There was so much outrage among conservative circles that the Governor of South Dakota Kristi Noem got into a Twitter spat with the rapper.

Later, when American professional skateboarder Tony Hawk did the same, but with skateboards, Lil Nas X was briefly furious. He even commented under his post, saying “nah he tweakin”. Moreover, Lil Nas X also highlighted how Tony barely got any backlash for doing the same thing that Nas even got the Governor riled up for. Of course, they patched up later in a viral TikTok video, as the rapper had nothing against Hawk. But now, Lil Nas X is receiving backlash from almost all ends of the political spectrum.

Now, Lil Nas X did a pregnancy photoshoot and it has triggered everyone

So Lil Nas X went on Twitter and chose violence. He shared a picture of himself in a Garden, wearing a white outfit with lovely white flowers and a flower crown like he was a bride, but with one small surprise – he had a huge baby bump. And he said he was pregnant with his upcoming album, MONTERO, which will be released on September 27, 2021.

As soon as the pictures hit Twitter, the internet pretty much broke. And it did feel like Nas was the orchestrator behind it, knowing the outrage it would cause. He really knew how to market his upcoming album, and did not disappoint. After really pushing his queer identity with MONTERO (Call Me By Your Name) and going full n*de in Industry Baby, people really appreciate just how audacious Lil Nas X really is.

And Lil Nas X was really embracing all the hate, as is evident by his tweets:

That said, it wasn’t just conservatives furious at the rapper. As the pictures made round, others took notice.

Dana Dentata accuses the rapper of stealing her concept for his album

Most notably, people accused Lil Nas X of stealing the concept of his album art from other artists. Especially Dana Dentata, a female underground artist, claimed that her makeup artist worked with Lil Nas X and ripped off her original concept from her upcoming album Pantychrist. Moreover, Nas’s album is releasing just a couple of weeks after Dentata’smaking it even more bizarre. Moreover, Dentata also accused Nas of making a mockery out of pregnancy. And Dentata let the world know that she was displeased with all this, as she posted numerous stories on her Instagram account and also wrote a post:

And, people were noticing the uncanny similarities too. Most noticeably, many fans noted how the ultrasound picture that Lil Nas X posted was very similar to the concept of Dentata’s album.

That said, many alleged that Dana Dentata was merely reaching and was making such allegations for publicity of her own album. But, that’s not where the criticism ended.

Many critics brought up the fact that Halsey was denied chances to promote her album because she was actually pregnant

Another bit of criticism that Nas, or more importantly the music industry faced was their double standards. Halsey recently opened up about the double standards displayed by the media when it came to pregnant women. They had three miscarriages in the past and was finally having their first child. They revealed how magazine covers simply refused to do her album shoot, saying that they didn’t want to become a maternity cover, even though it was the concept of her album. Halsey told E! News:

You know, we were going out and trying to set up magazine covers based around the album release, and they were like, ‘Yeah, but is she going to be pregnant? Because we don’t want to do a maternity cover’. And I was like, ‘It’s not a maternity cover. It’s about my album — I just happen to be pregnant’. And they’re like, ‘No, it’s a pregnant cover.’ And I was like, ‘So I can’t go talk about my album?’

That said, this wasn’t exactly Lil Nas X’s fault and people pointed out the double standards of the industry on Twitter:
