Kristen Stewart rose to fame mostly with her role as Bella Swan in the Twilight series. Ever since then, she has been in the spotlight.
Her personal life, more than her professional life, has been the talk of the town. What she was doing, who she was doing it with, who she was dating, everyone wanted to know everything. And quite recently, Kristen Stewart decided to open up about her sexuality and the caginess she initially felt because of it.
Kristen Stewart On Her Sexuality
“The first time I ever dated a girl, I was immediately being asked if I was a lesbian,” the 30-year-old Twilight actress told InStyle magazine. “And it’s like, ‘God, I’m 21 years old.’”
She shared with the magazine how her getting the media attention so early on in her career affected her. When she was seen with some of Hollywood’s hottest men, it “hurt the people she had been with.”
Kristen revealed it was not because she was ashamed to be openly gay. But she is not in favor of revealing too much to the public or giving so much of herself away. “It felt like such thievery. This was a period of time when I was sort of cagey,” she revealed.
She explained how it was that caginess that led her to avoid the spotlight when she was dating men.
“We did everything we could to not be photographed doing things — things that would become not ours. So I think the added pressure of representing a group of people, of representing queerness, wasn’t something I understood,” Kristen shared.
One of the men Kristen has been seen romancing is her reel life partner from the Twilight series, Robert Pattinson. This was her most high-profile relationship that eventually ended in 2013. The Twilight actress was then seen with the director, Rupert Sanders who was nearly two decades older than she was and even married at the time this affair happened.
She then dated visual effects producer, Alicia Cargile. As well as model, Stella Maxwell. The actress is currently with screenwriter, Dylan Meyer who she is absolutely in love with and “can’t f–king wait” to get married to her.
