Kanye West invites DaBaby and Marilyn Manson to Donda album listening event

Kanye West is once again in headlines. This time, he faced backlash for inviting Marilyn Manson and DaBaby to Donda listening party.

Before his album release, Kanye West is holding listening parties. A few days back, he held a third listening party for his album, Donda, in Chicago. However, the event instantly became viral and received heavy backlash. The criticism came after the rapper invited Marilyn Manson and DaBaby to the event. Many think it’s his way of presenting his opinions on cancel culture.

Previously, he held Donda listening parties in Atlanta, also riddled with controversies.

Named after his late mother, Donda is Kanye West’s 10th studio album. This highly anticipated album has a variety of featured artists and musicians. Apart from West himself, the album features Jay-Z, the Weeknd, Travis Scott, Young Thug, and Pusha T. At the same time, the late Pop Smoke, Baby Keem, Jay Electronica, Kid Cudi, and the Lox are also included. Before the release, Kanye West held listening parties. His fans did not have to show vaccination proof to attend these parties. According to the rapper, the vaccine can cause paralysis. However, that is not true and is only a conspiracy theory. Interestingly, Kanye West also camped out at the Mercedes Benz Stadium in Atlanta.

At the third Donda listening party, Kanye West made heads turn with his choice of musicians.

This time, the party was held in Chicago. Besides Kim Kardashian’s wedding dress appearance, Kanye West had other surprises. When Marilyn Manson and DaBaby made appearances, people were shocked. Although people are outraged, West has not given the reason for their presence. At the moment, Manson is facing many lawsuits after he was accused of sexual assault by multiple women. Similarly, his ex-partner, Evan Rachel Wood. According to Wood, Manson physically and sexually abused her throughout their relationship. On the other hand, DaBaby has received major backlash for his homophobic comments. For these derogatory comments, he was heavily criticized by Dua Lipa, Elton John, Madonna, and many more.

Due to Manson and DaBaby’s presence, Kanye West faced backlash

Instantly, people took to social media to criticize Kanye West for this event. According to one Twitter user:

Wait so Kanye has Dababy and Marilyn Manson on the stage with him? A homophobe and an alleged abuser?!? I cannot. Should have stopped when he levitated out of the Mercedes Benz Stadium.

Meanwhile, another did not think it was a surprise.

this is the same man that said slavery was a choice. why do y’all expect anything sane to come from him??

However, some people were actually shocked to see Kanye West mingling with abusers.

lmfao wtf he delete that song for that featured dababy? if he was gonna pull this shit he should’ve kept it up instead of pretending. and marilyn manson? ew, i can’t even.

While another user was saying:

Honestly it checks out to me that a man who claims to associate himself closely with God and Christianity would boost homophobes and those who abuse women.

There was another critic who said:

Their controversies are still fresh. I can only figure he supports their abuse against women and minors, and hateful views.

So far, Kanye West has not responded to the backlash. However, he has finally released Donda after much delay.
