Mena Massoud Trained Six Days A Week To Perform Stunts In Aladdin

For Mena Massoud, there was a lot to do. Mena’s titular Aladdin was on the forefront for most of the action in the 2019 live-action remake. And for this reason, the Canadian actor had to majorly hone his physical skills. In the promotional video, Mena Massoud mentions that he learned to do a few stunts for his big break. While Massoud did have a stunt double to fill in for him for the action sequences, the magic-carpet-riding star still underwent intense training to do a little action of his own. Massoud trained six days a week, doing everything from boxing to parkour for his big role.  Massoud’s training for Aladdin is definitely going to benefit him for his upcoming TV role in Hulu ‘s Reprisal. 

Massoud also learned to ride camels and dive underwater for specific scenes in the roles. While the aforementioned sequences made up trivial parts of the film, Massoud still took the activities up tp give his 100%.

Mena Massoud and Naomi Scott Became Singers And Dancers For Aladdin

In the 2019 Aladdin live-action remake, the lead stars did not just only act, they also danced and sang for the musical fantasy. Mena Massoud, Naomi Scott, and Will Smith performed on various numbers in the movie. While the film called for Massoud to start from scratch, he mentions that for Naomi it was just refining the skill.

Aladdin Live-Action Blu Ray Release

According to an announcement by Disney on Twitter, the digital edition of the live-action film will be released on 27th of this month. The Aladdin Blu ray will be out on Sept. 10. The fans will also get a combo of the animated classic. The original cartoon film was released back in 1992, and it is now being made available in 4K Ultra HD for the very first time.
