Two women accuse Chris D’Elia of exposing himself

Megan Drust
Drust recalled her incident with D’Elia where he exposed himself in front of her after the two had lunch at Jones restaurant with a mutual friend back in 2011. And this happened despite the fact that she had “marked him as safe” non-threatening male. Things took a turn for the worse when Drust took D’Elia to her car:
“We are both sitting there and I’m like, ‘Where are we going?’ And Chris is leaning up against the door of the passenger side and looking at me in this really weird way and then he started to try to make flirty small talk. I was very confused because it just didn’t fit the moment. Then he took down his zipper and asked me to touch him and I said, ‘What are you doing? No.’ And because I wouldn’t touch him, he started to m*sturbate. I couldn’t believe it.”
“I get out and I have the door open and I walk out into the street and I’m saying, ‘Why are you doing this?’ And I remember saying, ‘You’re defiling my car.’ I didn’t want to make him mad or upset because you’re in survival mode, you know? He climaxed in his pants and then he zipped everything up and I said, ‘What’s wrong with you?'”
An anonymous woman
This incident happened in 2018, with a woman who chose to remain anonymous while recounting her encounter with Chris D’Elia. This woman was a manager at the Kimpton Schofield Hotel in Cleveland, Ohio. The comedian was in the hotel as a guest in March of 2018. She received a call from D’Elia at around midnight, complaining that his air-conditioner wasn’t working. As there was no electrician in the hotel at the time, she had to go up to his room by herself. That’s when Chris D’Elia exposed himself in front of her. She told CNN:
“When I knocked on the door, he opened the door and he was completely naked. I was surprised, and I was annoyed that I just came all the way up just so he could expose himself to me.”
After that, she turned around and went back to her desk, without uttering a single word. Chris D’Elia tried to call her back upstairs for the repair, but she refused, saying that the electrician isn’t available. She recounted the incident with two of her colleagues and later reported it to the hotel’s management. However, the management took no action and behaved like it was a regular occurrence. The Kimpton Hotel Group, who managed the hotel, later denied the reporting of any such incident to CNN, saying:
“No incidents of guest misconduct were reported by guests or staff at the Kimpton Schofield Hotel during the dates in question..”
Fellow comedians speak out against D’Elia too
Other than victims, his own colleagues have also revealed how Chris D’Elia liked to expose himself in front of others. His friend and fellow comedian Bill Dawes told CNN:
“He was very proud of his body and he would expose himself in front of his guys he was on the road with and other male comics and he would do it kind of as a joke. He would expose himself in front of other women when other guys were in the room with him.”
Moreover, a female comedian who has been close friends with Chris D’Elia for ten years, who chose to remain anonymous, revealed to CNN:
“We used to hang out at the 101 Café after sets and the way he would speak about women was degrading, disrespectful, and demeaning to women.”
Even though D’Elia had never exposed himself in front of her, she and Dawes were unsurprised when allegations surfaced against the comedian. Dawes further said:
“There’s a lot of people who will say when the MeToo stuff happened, we were all thinking, ‘What about D’Elia?’. He just seemed really profligate with the way he would go after women, sleep with women, expose himself to women.”
His legal team’s response
Upon learning of these new allegations of sexual harassment, Chris D’Elia and his legal team denied them categorically. Andrew Brettler, his attorney, told the news outlet that:
“(D’Elia) emphatically states that he has never engaged in any sexual conduct with any woman without her consent.”
Previously, D’Elia also denied the allegations when many women accused him of sexual misconduct. Moreover, some of them were underaged as well at the time when they accused D’Elia of making sexual advances at them. His legal team later released some email conversations with the accusers. However, a lot of women who came forward were still left unanswered. A lot of D’Elia’s friends also called out the comedian for his sexual misconduct. And his career also took a hit, with his agency firing him. Moreover, Netflix and Zach Snyder also fired Chris D’Elia from their upcoming projects. You can read the complete CNN report here.
