A few months ago, we heard the news that Olivia Wilde replaced Shia Labeouf with Harry Styles back in September in her upcoming movie Don’t Worry Darling. However, with new details emerging, we know that Labeouf was, in fact, fired by Wilde!
Olivia Wilde fired Shia Labeouf from her film, Don’t Worry Darling!
According to a report by Variety, Wilde fired Labeouf early on before shooting even began because he “displayed poor behavior and his style clashed with the cast and crew”. The official reason cited for Labeouf’s departure was a scheduling conflict. However, a source revealed to Variety about Labeouf:
He is not an easy guy to work with.
Furthermore, Olivia Wilde has a policy on-set of “zero a**hole policy”. And after interacting with Shia Labeouf, she found him “off-putting”. This news came just a couple of weeks after Wilde herself publicly supported FKA Twigs, who filed a lawsuit against Labeouf on December 11 for alleged sexual battery, assault, and intentional infliction of emotional distress. Twigs, whose real name is Tahliah Debrett Barnett, accused LaBeouf of “relentless abuse.”
To show her support for Barnett’s allegations, Olivia Wilde shared a screencap of the New York Times article on her Instagram Stories with the caption “Love, respect, and support, FKA twigs”. Furthermore, Barnett was not the only woman to come forward against Labeouf. Another woman, named Karolyn Pho also alleged that the actor abused her. And she is also a part of Barnett’s lawsuit. Later on, after these allegations, singer Sia also exposed Labeouf. She described how he allegedly “conned me into an adulterous relationship claiming to be single”.
Labeouf has denied all of these allegations in a statement. However, his name has been removed from Netflix’s award website after featuring in their film Pieces of a Woman.
