Shonda Rhimes’ Bridgerton’s First Look Is Here And It’s Pretty Exciting

It has not been long since Shonda Rhimes’ Bridgerton was announced. But ever since then, we have been holding onto our seats eagerly just to see the first look of the new show. And the time has finally come.

The first look of Bridgerton just dropped and we have never seen anything more gorgeous. The upcoming book-turned-TV show is giving us major Gossip Girl meets Pride and Prejudice vibes and we could not be more excited.

The upcoming show is created by Shondaland, the production company owned by showrunner Shonda Rhimes. This is the same company that is responsible for creating masterpieces like Grey’s Anatomy, How To Get Away With Murder, and Scandal amongst others. However, Bridgerton is something Shonda has never quite done before.

The first look teaser gave us a glimpse into Julie Andrews as the Gossip Girl-Esque narrator along with a delightfully diverse cast. We also saw some breathtakingly gorgeous party sequences complete with dancing and fireworks. And how can we forget the s*x? The teaser definitely showed us that this is Netflix. And although the characters are all decked up in their Regency-era gear, they are not afraid to take it all off and get down and dirty.

Moreover, hopefully, the color-blind cast will set an example that all future period pieces will follow. Not to mention, the amazing work we can see the costume and production design teams have done here. Every frame, every outfit, every set looks lush and gorgeous.

What Is Bridgerton About?

Bridgerton is set to follow Daphne Bridgerton as she navigates the marriage market of the rich and famous. There is also a Victorian-era Gossip Girl on the loose called Lady Whistledown. And as Netflix put it, ‘the only thing Lady Whistledown loves more than gossip, is being the first to tell you about it.’

The series will be an enchanting Christmas present for Shondaland fans to unwrap on December 25th. If you don’t believe us, just give the teaser a watch below and you will see what we mean.
