What! Mädchen Amick directed the unpredicted finale episode of CW Riverdale season 4. Riverdale episode 19, which aired Wednesday night, is the season 4 finale, directed by show’s own star Mädchen Amick, the very known- Alice Cooper. The episode, however, wasn’t the planned Riverdale finale. It is the current pandemic atmosphere that forces to halt the shoots and development of this American teen drama based on the characters of Archie Comics.

The Reason Behind This Abrupt Closure

As a matter of fact, creators have designed three more episodes of Riverdale season 4 before the Covid-19 disaster. Hence, CW previously programmed a total of 22 episodes. The production is, then, paused for the fear of pandemic transmissions. The series’ nineteenth episode is, therefore, fabricated in a pattern that presented a contented conclusion for the viewers.

Moreover, the most surprising thing about this unceremonial Riverdale finale episode is the new director. So who steer the finale installment? It’s the show’s familiar character Alice Cooper, Mädchen Amick.

Mädchen Amick Is Pretty Excited

Obviously, Mädchen Amick herself is pretty challenged to take this responsibility, however, the lady nailed the task. The actress who began acting in front of the camera when she was just 16. According to her, directing is always somewhere in her subconscious.

“It just started getting more and more prevalent I would say in the past 10 years, so I’ve just been working toward that goal, and I’m so very thankful and grateful to be given the opportunity by [showrunner Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa] and Berlanti Productions and The CW, and I’m so excited it’s finally here,”

Mädchen Amick, in fact, is a student of  Diane Keaton. One of the directors on the original Twin Peaks. Her second inspiration is Lesli Linka Glater, who also worked on Twin Peaks and Gilmore Girls.

Riverdale Season 4! Finale

Riverdale Season 4! “Chapter Seventy-Six: Killing Mr. Honey”

Amick worked very hard, though, she was uncertain that the creators would even air her episode and choose to end with the musical. The finale episode displays the students of Riverdale High took down Mr. Honey — who’s trying to find out more about who’s behind the town’s mysterious videotapes. Madchen, thus, brought all of the kids in one big story together against Mr. Honey.

Amick has left good room for another season, Show’s creator showrunner Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa stated:

we had written episodes 20, 21, and 22 and when we talked about season 5 and some of the big events like prom and graduation, it would feel like a cheat if we somehow didn’t do those.
