Trump Claims To Know What Happened to Kim Jong-Un, But Won’t Say It

Kim Jong-Un and his health have been in the news for weeks now. There are dozens of reports coming from China, South Korea, and the US that contradict each other. But, the US President Donald Trump decided to add to the problem. He raises confusion around the health of the North Korean leader, claiming he knows what happened to him.

Trump claims to know what happened to Kim Jong-Un

In a recent press conference last Monday, Donald Trump just made the already confusing situation in North Korea even more confusing. When asked about Kim at first, he said:

I can’t tell you, exactly — yes, I do have a very good idea, but I can’t talk about it now. I just wish him well.

But then, moments later he completely changed his statement about Kim. That too in the same press conference!

He didn’t say anything last Saturday. Nobody knows where he is so he obviously couldn’t have said it. This is breaking news that Kim Jong Un made a statement on Saturday. I don’t think so.

The statement he is referring to here might be the one that the North Korean media ran on television. They claimed it was from Kim Jong-Un himself, where he addressed workers in his country. After these confusing and contradicting statements from the US President, National Security Advisor Robert O’ Brien cleared things a little:

We’re monitoring these reports very closely. As you know, North Korea is a very closed society. There’s not a free press there. They’re parsimonious with the information they provide about many things, including the health of Kim Jong Un.

The whole world is looking at North Korea

The questions around the health of Kim Jong-Un has many ramifications. Firstly, if he is dead, then who will replace him? And if he isn’t, then where is he? If he underwent massive heart surgery, then will he be able to continue to lead North Korea? And if there is a successor, how will he or she fare in the totalitarian state?

These are just some of the many questions around this fiasco. But, we covered one of them, where we saw the chance of North Korea having a woman as a leader. And she would be none other than Kim Jong-Un’s sister, Kim Yo Jong. Until then, all we can do is wait and see as the events unfold.
