Harry Styles recently attended the BRIT Awards 2020 this Wednesday. This was surprising because the young singer recently got robbed at gunpoint. Although his presence at the event was a pleasant surprise, fans were quick to notice one thing. The ‘Watermelon Sugar’ singer was wearing a black ribbon pin on his suit. Many are thinking that this was his tribute to his ex-girlfriend Caroline Flack, who tragically passed away a few days ago.
The Black Ribbon on Harry Styles suit
As you can clearly see, there is a pin on the collar side of the singer’s suit. I recently found out that Harry Styles and Caroline Flack used to date way back in 2011. The two met when Caroline was a host at the ‘The Xtra Factor’ and Harry was a contestant along with One Direction. The relationship was controversial because of their age difference. Harry Styles was 17 when he started dating the 31-year-old host Caroline Flack.
The ‘Love Island’ host defended this relationship she had with the singer stating that:
“In the entertainment industry, nobody asks what age you are. I’ve never felt I was much older than Harry anyway. I still feel 18 and probably act that way half the time — all those years in kids’ telly probably didn’t help…We were both single, we got on well and we had a laugh.”
The two remained on close terms even after they had broken up with each other. Harry and Caroline had a great friendship. Hence, it comes as no surprise when the singer paid a silent tribute to Caroline Flack.
Harry Styles Mother Anne Twist Posts Touching Tribue to Caroline Flack
While Harry chooses to silently mourn Caroline’s death, his mother Anne Twist posted a poem on Instagram on her honor.
The beautiful poem encapsulates feelings that Caroline Flack must be feeling that led to her taking her own life:
“How lonely must you feel, to think that must be done, to feel there is no love to support you through.
How must your heart ache, To feel so all alone, The public face; the private face Both vulnerable.
The mask we all wear, Outside where skies are open, In view of others eyes, Opinions words and cruelty.
Unmasked and alone, Black hol surrounds, No shoulder or heart, Enough to take the pain away.”
