This year Taylor Swift surpassed Michael Jackson who received 24 AMAs during his life. the 29-time winning pop queen received the decade award before the event itself, as reported by Billboard. However, her grandest award was winning the Artist of the Year award amongst worthy nominations like Drake, Post Malone, Halsey, and Ariana Grande.
An emotional Taylor Swift told the crowd that the year turned out to be a roller coaster ride for her. She said that she faced the hardest things in her life this year, as well as “some of the most amazing times”.
This can be referenced to her feud with Scooter Braun over the rights to her back catalogue of six albums. The dispute refused her to perform her old songs at the AMAs, marking her performance doubtful.
