Old Vs. New, Will Homecoming Seize The Americans’ Rightful Golden Globes 2019 Parting Prize?

The Golden Globes 2019 nominations have largely been a dare. Enlisting the newest buzziest shows in its startling categories, The Golden Globes 2019 have hardly given nods to acclaimed popular shows. Most of the major categories have snubbed long running shows and multi-time winners, and the ones that remain either have no scope of being revisited or they have been snubbed in the past.  In its main TV races, there are generally fresh contestants except with exception of a few. Amazon Prime podcast based drama Homecoming husband several nominations in the major television categories and the hype around it most likely indicates that it will sweep more than just one award at the ceremony. While Homecoming is undoubtedly a strong competitor in the races it receives a stiff opposition from the formal crime drama The Americans. We don’t know if the Golden Globes 2019 will offer a parting prize or a welcoming prize, but it is never a bad idea to look at the odds.

If Goldderby predictions are to be referred, then in that case it would be wrong to overlook BBC’s Killing Eve as a strong prospective winner. However, the non-native aspect may prove to be of significant  menace.

Will The Americans Receive Its Long Overdue Golden Globe As The Best Drama Series?

If we talk about The Americans on FX, well The Hollywood Foreign Press Association has never nominated it before. So its inclusion counts as the group’s way of making up for that error. But fans have been an ore of the shows last season. The Americans did not go for the win at the Emmys, so if ardent fans make an effort they can really push the show up the race among the other nominees at all in their first seasons. Unfortunately for The Americans, the show is now long gone. And this noticeable  period of absence has largely toned down the hype and buzz around the shows last season. The show did pick up some voice when it was nominated against powerful players like Stranger Things, The Handmaid’s Tale and Westworld but the popularity faded away too soon. As for Amazon Prime’s Homecoming, its ’70s conspiracy vibe is enough to give it the edge.

Matthew Rhyss Will Topple Over Other Contestants To Seize His Well Deserved Award At The Golden Globes 2019

Matthew Rhyss possesses a charisma. He is the dapper, suave gentleman that the audience for not easily forget. For this reason he is still widely popular and his what bank has not been affected by his absence on screen. Moreover, Rhyss already holds a recent Emmy for his performance. While the Globes usually trend toward whatever is new, sometimes they give a trophy to an actor who’s clearly long overdue. 2018 has been and equally auspicious year for Stephen James on Homecoming. He found his big breaks with the Amazon Prime psychological thriller and the celebrated movie If Beale Street Could Talk (another Golden Globes 2019 nominee). James have ever fall short of Matthew rise star power. For the odds for The Americans’ lead star are greater in this category.

Julia Roberts Will Land Homecoming Its First Golden Globe

In the lead TV actress category Keri Russell falls terribly short on good omen. Julia Roberts made her television debut with Amazon Prime Homecoming. But before that she already has nine Golden Globe up her kitty. The HFPA visibly loves her, and we won’t be surprised if the Golden Globes become the first forum to honor Julia Roberts in this new space. Even if the accolade does not go to Roberts, The Golden Globes 2019 host Sandra Oh has created tangible ascendancy for herself. She has been in the news more often, and this has got voters to know her better.

Golden Globes 2019 air tonight 6th January at 8 p.m. ET.
