FBI Issues Arrest Warrant For Brian Laundrie In Gabby Petito Murder Case

While there are many missing cases, this is specifically different as Gabby Petito was documenting it on social media. Throughout their cross-country trip, she kept updating her followers about her and Brian Laundrie’s travels. However, things might have not been good between them. After her disappearance, a bodycam footage resurfaced. In the video, we can all see how distressed and frustrated she seemed. On the other hand, Brian Laundrie seemed relaxed and calm. At the same time, a 911 caller stated that they saw him hitting her. Therefore, it is possible that the trip which she started as dream project, might have turned out to be a punishment. While she was missing or murdered as we know now, Laundrie drove the same van, they were travelling in, back to Florida.

According to his parents, Brian Laundrie left home on 14th September

Although he came back to his parent’s house without Gabby Petito, Brian Laundrie did not tell anyone what happened. On 11th September, Gabby Petito’s family reported her missing. Despite that, he did not come forward with any information. Similarly, he straight away refused to talk to the police. According to his family, Brian Laundrie left the house on 14th September. They have not seen him since. At the same time, they informed the police that he did not take his phone or wallet. They were also concerned that he might harm himself. After weeks of search and investigation, the FBI confirmed that Gabby Petito was murdered. However, they are still searching for him.

Yesterday, FBI issued arrest warrant for Laundrie

According to FBI, Brian Laundrie used a bank card and someone’s identification number. He withdrew more than $1000 from Capital One Bank. It happened between 30th August to 1st September. This is when Gabby Petito originally went missing. Although the identity of the card holder is not revealed, an arrest warrant has been issued. According to FBI Special Agent In-charge, Michael Schneider:

“While this arrest warrant allows law enforcement to arrest Mr Laundrie, the FBI and our partners across the country continue to investigate the facts and circumstances of Ms Petito’s homicide.”

Although the arrest warrant is not much, it is the right step at this point. With the warrant, FBI will be able to arrest him and then further investigate Petito’s murder.
