But now, with vaccines now available, the world is slowly turning back to normal. There are in-door events happening more, dine-ins are something we can now look forward to. But amid the new Delta variant of the coronavirus, there is still a need for caution. Something that Seth Rogen jokingly pointed out!

In the Emmys 2021, Seth Rogen comments on how ‘unsafe’ the Emmys 2021 award event is

The Emmys 2021 event was presented as a very safe event with a lot of COVID protocols being followed. However, Seth Rogen didn’t think that was the case. Before presenting the award for ‘Best Supporting Actress in a Comedy Series’, the comedian commented:

“They said this was outdoors. It’s not. They lied to us. We’re in a hermetically sealed tent right now. I would not have come to this.”

He also pointed out what all of us were thinking back at home,

“There is way too many of us in this little room.”

Though, what Seth Rogen was most worried about was the ceiling.

“It’s more important that we have three chandeliers than that we make sure we don’t kill Eugene Levy tonight. That is what has been decided.”

The comments by Seth Rogen were quickly countered by other Emmy presenters such as Cedric the Entertainer and DJ Reggie Watts.

Reggie Watts, one of the music headliners for the The Late Late Show With James Corden, was saying

“Despite what Seth might have said, we’re going to celebrate and party, but while we’re doing that we’re absolutely following all the health and safety guidelines that some really smart people asked us to do to keep us safe from COVID.”

Cedric the Entertainer also added:

“It actually feels amazing in here unlike what Seth (Rogen) was talking about. It feels good. We’re all vaxxed. We had to get vaxxed to come here. I got vaxxed. And I did not have a reaction like Nicki Minaj’s cousin’s friend. I got Pfizer because I’m bougie. Pfizer is the Neiman Marcus of vaccines. Moderna, that’s Macy’s. Johnson & Johnson, that’s TJ Maxx.”

The show organizers themselves assured the viewers that despite what Seth Rogen said, all the necessary protocols were being followed. The tables were placed with a distance of six feet amid them. And the audience was pretty small. Importantly, all of the attendees were vaccinated and tested.

Another meme-able moment at the Emmys 2021 was when Rogen mispronounced the winner’s name

The winner of ‘Best Supporting Actress in a Comedy Series’ was Hannah Waddingham from ‘Ted Lasso’. Seth Rogen incorrectly pronounced her name as Hannah Waddington.

Though, Hanna didn’t take notice of it at the time and went on to thank Jason Sudeikis in her acceptance speech:

“Jason, you changed my life with this and more importantly my baby girl’. I’m honestly so privileged to work with you. I really am.”

Hannah later on joked that she’ll return the favor to Seth by calling him ‘Seth Ragin’:

Seth Rogen looked pretty dashing though!
