Last week, Nicki Minaj caused a stir with her anti-vaccine comments. Initially, it was social media losing its mind. From making memes to stating facts, people came at her left, right, and center. However, her comments were not to be taken lightly. Therefore, the White House had to intervene. According to the rapper, White House officials invited her to have a discussion on the after-effects and benefits of the vaccination. But is this claim true or another one of Minaj’s fictitious tales.
After her anti-vaxxer statements, the health minister of Trinidad and Tobago criticized her
Originally, Nicki Minaj is from Trinidad. Therefore, her statements also affect the country and its image. When she shared the tale of her cousin’s friend’s testicles, the government of Trinidad had to speak up. One reason for it is because that my friend lives in the country. According to Nicki Minaj, her cousin’s friend became impotent after getting the vaccination. This caused an uproar on social media. At the same time, Terrence Dyalsingh, the health minister of Trinidad, called her statement stupid and false. After this story went viral, Dyalsingh and his department spend an entire day checking the accuracy of the incident. However, they could not find any case of impotence caused by the vaccine. In a statement, he said:
Unfortunately we wasted so much time yesterday running down this false claim.
Few days ago, Nicki Minaj claimed that White House officials have invited her to have a discussion on the vaccine
Since this incident has gone viral, Nicki Minaj has termed it ‘Ball Gate’. When a follower tweeted that the UN should invite her to speak at the General Assembly, Minaj had an interesting response. According to her:
The White House has invited me & I think it’s a step in the right direction. Yes, I’m going. I’ll be dressed in all pink like Legally Blonde so they know I mean business. I’ll ask questions on behalf of the ppl who have been made fun of for simply being human. #BallGate day 3
While she would make a convincing Elle Woods, her claim might not be accurate.
In response to her claim, White House denied inviting Nicki Minaj in person
Shortly after her tweet, a White House representative came forward with an explanation. According to the official, it is pretty standard for the White House to offer any kind of help regarding the vaccine. If any person has any doubts about it, the doctors will answer their questions. However, she made sure to clear that Nicki Minaj was not invited to come in person. She said:
As we have with others, we offered a call with Nicki Minaj and one of our doctors to answer questions she has about the safety and effectiveness of the vaccine.
At the same time, she said that the call was on the initial level where her staff talked to the White House staff.
Although Nicki Minaj has created a mess, we hope that she actually does her research and learns a thing or two about the vaccine.
